  • Is this better than Nulon fully synthetic?

    • 5w30 will be lower fuel consumption.

      • And better start up protection

        • Only if you're heavily loading an engine at revs above its maximum oil pressure. Once you hit maximum oil pressure, that's the maximum protection for the engine, at that RPM. Go higher RPM and you get less protection due to less oil flow (less cooling and seperation across the moving faces as oil thins across the face) through vital parts while more is bled to the sump via the oil pressure relief valve. Every engine is different.

There's so much more than "a higher first number means less engine protection when cold".

If you baby an engine while cold and keep the RPM down, especially a manual which can have maximum torque at any RPM due to no fluid coupling, it's entirely possible a 15w40 will protect it better than a 5w40.

Different SAE rating and partly made up from deceased dinosaurs. No comparison.

      • made up from deceased dinosaurs

So are most group III "full synthetic" oils.

        https://blog.amsoil.com/are-all-synthetic-oil-groups-the-sam…

Group III base oils consist of reconstructed molecules that offer improved performance in a wide range of areas, as well as good molecular uniformity and stability. These synthesized materials can be used in the production of synthetic and semi-synthetic lubricants.

They're the genetically modified deceased dinosaurs. Better in every way, but still a dinosaur.
