That's a horrible experience. I wouldn't be impressed either at all.
We've never stayed at the chalet thingy but were less than impressed with the food selection. :) However, we are quite happy to report that the visit to the caves themselves was really really really enjoyable.

Ha good luck. We booked in there a few years back when the kids were young, thought it would be cool to stay at the on site chalet thingy. So we booked a room, paid the money, all was good. Double-checked before heading off, then drove a hard day in the car and got there around dinner time. Booked in, got to our room and wtf, someone else was already in there. Whatever, walked al the way back to reception (carting luggage of course) and told them someone was already in there can we have another room please? Only to get told they all booked out and that we should suck it up. Not impressed at all, didn't get to see a single cave. So now we were stuck for accommodation, piled everyone back in the car, loaded up the luggage, drove back through the windy mountains and managed to find a place to stay in Bathurst for the night.
So coupons? Nope didn't get any of them either. I'm usually pretty patient with that kind of thing but in our case it was a bloody dog and pony show. You have been warned…couldn't happen to others though could it?
