Best Beer Delivery Subscription Services

Looking to get a mate who loves his beer. Looking at getting him a beer subscription present for his birthday, but it seems there's quite a few options.

CC Liquor
Beer Cartel
Buckey Boys
Booze Bud
Hops to Home
Slow Beer

Does anyone have any recommendations or tales of caution about particular ones?

Cheers in advance.

Personally, I'd avoid CC liquor, those guys have always seemed dodgy.

Bucket Boys and Beer Cartel both know their beers. I'd probably pick one of those

Also, Carwyn Cellars down in Mexico do beer subscriptions too

I also looked at the slowbeer website and they seem to let you tell them what you like and dislike which is cool. The worst thing about subscription services like these, is when you get a beer you don't like, or depending on the service 2 or 4 of that beer.

  • Yeah you really have to be easy going with styles of beers you like. So I've never tried them. If someone did an imperial ale / barley wine subscription pack, I'd try it, but most beer subs are just lights ( eg under 7%…).

I've used CC Liquor a number of times. Just for box buys. No real issues, and a lot of good beers show up, and some good coupons.

Craftybrew has random build a box and mystery boxes, but I don't think a subscription. They are good also, but range a bit limited.

I am not sure boozebud has them, but they are a good store as well.

I rarely buy mixed boxes though as just not worth it from an added cost perspective.

i had a tasty barleywine last night at beer cartel:

      • Jeez, a Firestone walker heavy? They don't have it listed. To me, the only thing better than a barrel aged imperial stout is a barrel aged barley wine! I'd love some!

there was a handful of the vintage releases I got to taste last night. they only arrived yesterday so I'd expect them to update the website today sometime.

  • If I were in this situation I'd probably get them a gift card for a craft beer shop nearby, that way they get to choose their own beer so if they're a quality over quantity type they can still get what they want.

  • Looking to get a mate who loves his beer. Looking at getting him a beer subscription present for his birthday,

I'll be your mate. Ps, birthday is next week.

  • I've tried Hops To Home's monthly package. Very fresh new stock.
Beer subscription is more exciting than a beer gift card, unless money is critical.
