Help me to choose Credit Card which offers best Complimentary Travel Insurance

I will be visiting overseas for 4 weeks early next year (2 Adults and 2 Kids) and wondering which credit card offers best complimentary travel insurance. I currently hold following credit cards and happy to purchase ticket using one of them. What is your experience like with the claim process?

1.ANZ Black
2.Westpac Black Altitude
3.Amex Velocity Platinum

Many thanks in advance!

  • CBA Credit Card, you don't even need to use the credit card to enable complimentary insurance.

    • Unfortunately I am unable to get new credit card so would have to stick with 3 options above.

I think you will need to read the travel insurance documentation for each and work out what you need to do for the cover to be activated, and what level of coverage you get.

Probably best if you read the PDS yourself and assess which one covers your needs better.

  • I was recently on holidays in Europe and was impacted by the meatatarian hurricane in October which caused our ferry to be cancelled the morning we were supposed to depart.

I purchased same day flights to get us to the island and the Allianz insurance that came with my ANZ black card covered the additional flight + extra costs involved with staying in Athens for 3/4 of a day and transport to the airport.

All in all it was a painless experience, I was only out of pocket the $250 excess. Granted this was a small claim (less than $1k).

      Awesome autocorrect/typo!

    • Thanks!

  • Anyone has a pre existing condition?
