Best Credit Card to Use as a Debit Card

Hi everyone,

Long time reader, first time poster !

I was hoping to receive some suggestions for a credit card which I can use to only accrue rewards/points. I have no intention of holding any debt whatsoever.

I am 21, a student, and I am planning a large international trip at the end of 2019 so I am looking for a card which has a large bonus point offer i.e. spend $x in 3 months get y points. I should be able to cover the minimum spend requirements as my parents have some large expenditures coming up and they have offered to use this future credit card of mine for the purchases.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

This has been asked and answered a thousand times before. Please use the search function here before posting a vague question like this.

Apologies for being harsh but when you've done some of your own research then come back with a more specific question, if you still have any, and we can help answering it. Your 21 so you don't need spoon feeding

Being a student, do you have an income suitable for credit card approval?

I have some large future bills coming up I could help you with as well if you want to put them on your card I'd gladly let you have the points.

  • Most credit cards have 35k min income, you will need that as a student

  • personally i dont use credit card for overseas spending because of the 3% fees plus (usually) bad exchange rate.

    • 28 degrees is good for that purpose. There's also a bankwest card, and a couple of others I think.

      • Usually cards that let you earn points will incur 3% intl transaction fee :(
Thought there might be an exemption that I don’t know

        • Oh right I missed the bit about points.. yeah, that's annoying.
We get ripped off in Australia. The Platinum Amex in the US annual fee is US$550, $1450 here, and their card has no foreign transaction fees. You'd think if any rewards card waived it here, it would be that one.
