Kept refreshing and now it works!
It did same to me on the iPad, jace. So I went out of the webpage from the link and into amazon.com separately and then searched for crazy rich asians kindle. That worked. It now appears in the kindle app, I have kept kindle on the old US account even though I have Amazon AU prime.
Ah is that why. Thought it was pretty counter intuitive.

Book in my opinion; movie has major plot change which will be interesting to see when they make the second movie …
Movie is better IMHO. They smoothed out the rough edges of the book’s plot for the film. Also I didn’t like the writing style of the book.
