Hole in Boot of Honda Accord

I just recently cleaned up my car (Honda 2006 Accord Euro Lux) spare tyre.

And I found out there's a hole in the boot near where the spare tyre is kept. The whole bottom platform of the spare tyre also a bit wet and rusted.

Any suggestion how to fix this?

No mspaint or at least a pic?

Solution: sticky tape over that whatever hole.

The boot seal is leaking. Inspect it for cracks or tears. If it is reasonable condition then add a bunch of flexible silicone sealant to the seal to prevent leakage.

As for the hole in the floor you'll need to remove the rust with a disc sander (on each side of the hole) and then rust-o-kill on to the bare metal, then metal primer.

As it is in the boot then it doesn't need to look pretty, just do multiple coats of primer.

Then to patch the hole - sheet of tin, plenty of sealant and pot rivet in place. pre-prime the meal and prime again after pot riveting in place.

What did your Honda say when you asked it?

  • Is the hole a deliberate hole? or a hole formed by rust?

      Breathing hole, then blood/viscera drainage.

previous owner drilled that hole to drain pooling rainwater from leaking boot seals

    just leave it

  • Flex tape.
