PS4 Slim or PS4 Pro HELP ME

I am looking to get a PS4, casual gamer. TV does not support 4k video. Which PS4 should I get? I will be playing your standard games such as COD, FIFA, 2K19. Help would be great! Thanks

Sounds like the slim will be adequate for your needs.

No doubting the PS pro is the better unit but if you're not going to get the use or benefits it has to offer why go for the more powerful machine.

I'd probably even consider a Switch if you're a casual Gamer might find more it more fun and get more use out of it and all the titles above will be on there I believe.

Buy a phone, mobile game, Did not realise there was a PS4 slim either

      PS4 is cheaper!

    • Phones cost way more than PS4, as a person who plays mobile games you can easily spend $500+ on one game compared to PS4 where it's just $80 for the game + $60 for the season pass.

You spend $500+ on one mobile game?

Although I don't, nor do I condone it, I think it's fair to say that mobile games are engineered to catch whales - ps4 games are generally more buy-once (then maybe DLC), mobile games will try to have you buy gems on a regular basis to feed the addiction.

  • even though ps4 slim might suit you better now, get the PS4 pro to future proof. you wont regret it.

otherwise, if on a budget, get ps4 slim.

  • For the extra $150, get the Pro. It has 500GB more disk space and even if you don't (yet) have a 4K TV, many games support supersampling which improves picture quality by downscaling 4K to 1080P.

  • Just get the PRO and future proof yourself for the rest of this console's generation.

I don't get the talk of future proofing… Yes the pro has better graphics but all games coming out will need to run on both the pro and standard console. Unless you mean ps5 games that come out and only run on ps5 or the pro?

  • The Pro tends to have better graphics and more stable frame rates.. so you see advantages even without a 4K TV. If you can afford I Pro I would get it

  • If you already have a 4K TV or plan to get one, get the Pro to make the most out of your TV and gaming experience.
