  • Hrmmm better to get and Inspiron or Latitude for University work and general usage. Always concerned with the longevity of consumer laptops.

    • Latitude is like double the price for the same specs, though they turn up cheaper in the outlet sometimes.

      • Normally last longer though.

Mine at work did 5 years no dramas being on for 9 hours a day. Being carried everywhere in a bag. Had a few dings because of small drops onto tables but no issues.

        But worth double?

  • Is this a better laptop for a first year high school student than this Microsoft:

For high schoolers I would consider under $500 laptops to start. My two teens got cheap ones($350 specials) initially and haven't had any issues. Then I replaced(and will) to lighter laptops around year 10, 11, after they learnt how to take care laptops.

      • Thank you, appreciate the advice

Surface for portability Higher Res Panel, good for drawings?

Dell for more CPU Cores More Ram, more overall power

So if you run programs that like more cores and the Dell will be faster

If you want to game I would look out for models with Thunderbolt, if not whatever suits your needs

    • Thanks for that
