PYIPPEE

Greetings everyone, another great sale on these Vacuums. The second generation model is the cheapest price it has ever been for Australian stock, and the 1st generation is also the cheapest ever with a combination of the 5% gift cards.

I thought this was worth posting early to ensure that everyone gets the 5% off $100 eBay Digital Gift Cards which brings the prices down to $411.30 and $293.05 respectively.

I have owned my 1st gen vacuum for a month now and it has hands down been one of the most helpful purchases I have ever got.

There is stock of the 2nd generation within Sydney & Melbourne to improve the delivery times. There is stock of the 1st generation only in Melbourne.

These are local products with a 12 month warranty, they also have an excellent returns policy if necessary.

God damnit. Bought it at the $457 price. Why you do this?

    • +21

Same. I guess we'll just have to… suck it up

    • +3

Buy one more and cut your losses

    • So $25 more? And it's been cleaning your house for you since when?

      Our thoughts are with you…

  • +7

OzB needs to have an FAQ page for each product which collates common q&a's from the previous time a deal was posted. I can already guess one of the comments on this post being:

"How's the mopping functionality on these?"

"Not great, its a bit like dragging a wet cloth across the floor"

    • Yep please add difference between version 1 and 2

    • -1

How's the mopping functionality on these?

  • Sorry how does the ebay 5% vouchers work? Can I apply 4 of the gift card to this purchase?

    • +2

Yep, you can apply 4x $100 vouchers and pay the rest in cash!

      • Didn't know you can pay with cash on eBay, does it take coins? :P

      • I used 5 gift vouchers, and still have the balance in the last voucher, which I checked here.
Btw, thanks doweyy :) Finally bit the bullet!

  • Can you buy now and apply code after 5pm?

    • try it

      • hmm….not sure i want to take the risk

  • Thanks OP been waiting for exactly this!

  • Damn, really need to unpack my old purchases and let them do the work! They dropping prices so quick 😥

  • PYIPPEE code doesn't work for me, did anyone else manage to get it working?

    • Starts at 5PM AEDT :)

    • 5pm dude

      • Cheers guys, lol got excited for sec.

  • thanks OP. been waiting to get one closer to the lowest price.

  • 2nd Generation does not need China Mainland Server for virtual wall?

    • +1

new firmware dropped about a week ago, so no. I use the Singapore server.

  • Can we wait till 5PM, uses the 15% off for the gift cards and then uses those discounted gift cards to buy this?

Surely that would be better than buying the giftcards for 5% off right now? :)

    • +1

The 15% code excludes gift card purchases, the same as any previous sitewide code.

      • Thanks doweyy. Do you know if the giftcard coupon is sent immediately to your accounts email after purchase?

        • +1

It really depends, I got mine in minutes but others take a couple of hours, I would imagine you'd definitely receive them before the sale starts however.

  • Better to buy now or wait for black Friday sales? Who knows…

  • +1

Does anyone know how the "digital virtual wall" works? I can't find any info online.
Unless its just another name for the zoned cleaning?

    • You draw a line ("barrier tape") or a box ("no go zone") onto the map of your place that's generated after a clean where you've saved the map, and it won't go past that line or into the box. Need to ensure map saving is enabled to get it to work.

      • Hm.. I don't have the option to save maps.

        • +1

Its in vacuum settings in the Mi Home app. I hadn't seen it before and when I tapped on it it asked me to update the firmware.

          • @skinnypete5: Yep, it's in the latest firmware that went out about a week ago. Once updated, it's in vacuum settings and you need to let the robot do a clean after turning it on to save a map; then that becomes the main map for drawing boundaries on.

  • +1

How do these compare to the old Neato XV-21? Our old XV-21 is still going strong with a new lithium battery and I got it around the same price back in 2014.

    • I have both. Mi is better, the only thing that let's it down is its inability to go over a patterned rug.

      • It's a bit dodgy, but you can fix the patterned rug issue by putting masking tape over the sensors underneath the Xiaomi.

If there are no stairs or steps for the Xiaomi to fall down, then there's no harm :) My in-laws have a bunch of rugs that caused problems until we did this.

  • This will either be the greatest investment I've ever made, or it will be up for sale in the classifieds in a month.

    • +12

Trust me, it'll be the greatest investment you'll ever make.

      • +4

100% Agree. Great machine, we spend a lot of time watching it:)

      • +1

        • +1

Gen 1 or 2? I'm leaning toward the Gen 2.

Even a half arsed mopping function is going to be better than (current) no mopping taking place… shame

          • +1

@donbot: I’m speaking from Gen 1 experience only

          • +1

@donbot: Forget the mop function. The Gen 2 which I have has fantastic suction ability and goes everywhere we need it to. It is our main vacuum cleaner but we are going to get a stick vac dyson for the stairs.

  • How is it on Carpet? (My apartment is mostly carpet covered).. Can anyone tell from their experience? Thanks

    • Carpet is fine as long as it’s not extremely high pile

  • Price aside; this gen2 or the robo 8xx with wifi from Costco (can't remember the exact model)

  • Sorry, I am new to this, how do you get to $293 for the Gen1?

I apply the 15% discount and get the vacuum to $329.80. I use three gift cards which costs me $285 and gives me $300 of buying power. I still need to pay an en extra 29.80 which brings total cost to $314.

Sorry if I am missing something.

    • Check your calculations bro

      Vacuum listed as $363.47
      - 15% = $308.94

      • Thanks so much, I was looking at the "Global Version" whatever that is.

  • Can anyone give any indication of the actual climbing ability of the Gen 1? I've got some raised areas going into bathrooms/bedrooms etc at about 1.7cm with no taper, just a straight edge. Will the Gen 1 vacuum cleaner have any issues entering and exiting these rooms?

      • Thanks. It helps, but not quite the same situation as it looks like it is higher than 1.7cm overall and has an additional raised bit that might make it more difficult (or easier) to cross.

Edit, this is an example of the raised bit I'd like the Gen 1 to go back and forth over at 1.7cm high:

  • Is the code working for anyone?

    • Yep. Order placed for $432.95. Gave up on the 5% cards coming through and placed it without.

      • Any chance you can send the link to the one you purchased from, mine keeps stating code cannot be applied to your product..

      • Code worked for me also. Gift cards/codes took exactly 4hrs to arrive (ordered 11:30am this morning)

  • +1

My voucher code came at 5.03pm, just in time for finalising the purchase.

  • Still waiting for gift cards… 2.5hrs so far…

    • Same, been 3 hours for me.

      • I had to wait slightly over 4 hours, I've read several other comments saying the same

  • Does any one know if the replacement parts (filter, brush and sweeper etc) are interchangeable for gen 1 and 2? Can't find accurate info on this.

    • +1

Yes, other recent parts kits posts this week advised they were.

  • Why not buy 400$ vouchers and use the 15% off code on that then buy the vaccum wouldnt that be 30% off !!

    • +1

      Because gift cards are excluded.

    • +2

Gift cards excluded from the 15% off.

      Is this your first rodeo?

      • What gave it away :-)

  • How well does it work in a normal house that has couches, chairs, tables, tv units, kids toys etc and rooms that are not just open and empty. I have had old models of Samsung robot vaccums which could never navigate properly because of the non open plan living.

  • G-shopper has got 3yr warranty for $509 as well. Ain’t that a better deal?

    • $20 postage though

  • Should I get gen 1 or 2???

    • Gen 2. Cry once…

  • thanks OPS for sharing.
Got $400 voucher codes in less than 5 minutes, total cost for the 2nd Gen is $412.95

    • how did you pay? I've been waiting 3 hours and nothing. I thought by paying with paypal it may speed things up…. NOP :(

      • Paid by Paypal for the vouchers and the remaining $32.95

      • Just got code then. 4hrs and 25 mins - what a joke

  • +1

Thanks OP, bought mine for $412.95, not sure how u get it to $411.30.

Code came just after 4 hours.

  • +1

    Finally bit the bullet

Must admit - I'm very excited to try this out

  • +2

    Delivered!

  • +1

My V1 just arrived, this thing is a beast.

    Very happy!

  • My V2 just arrived - very happy!

  • Got my 2nd Gen today - I think I'm in love…

  • Me too. Any tidbits/settings we should be aware of from seasoned owners?

  • I am planning to get the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum 1st generation as i dont need the mopping functionality. Considering people have it since a while keen to know what kind of life span this device could have and does it eliminate the need to vacuum if using this ? Thanks

  • Missed the deal :(
Is it going to be back this year??
