SteamLink Hardware is Being Discontinued

Looks like EB knew what was happening with all those sub-$10 Steam Link deals in the past

The supply of physical Steam Link hardware devices is sold out. Moving forward, Valve intends to continue supporting the existing Steam Link hardware as well as distribution of the software versions of Steam Link, available for many leading smart phones, tablets and televisions. Guessing whatever's in stock at stores will be the last of the supplies. Mine was useful, but it's pretty much gathering dust now as I don't Steam game as much anyway. Heard people were also using it for watching tv shows/movies etc from their computers though

  • Drats! I've been trying to get ahold of a SteamLink for over a year now! By the time I hear about the various times they've been on sale they've all been sold out. Oh well. I hope Valve come out with a new generation of the hardware – I love PC gaming but miss lazy Saturdays on the couch.

  • Decent little device but the writing has been on the wall for a while. No support for 4K, gigabit ethernet or VR.
I probably use it once a week for gaming or streaming media. Biggest problem was the general buggyness. A lot of games wouldn't run properly. And the USB support was flakey. I could never get my mic to work.

    Great idea, just unfinished.

    • Thats true - always seemed laggy when playing twitch sensitive games via wireless also
