Upgrade RAM/SSD in Inspiron 7577

Hey guys, I was looking to upgrade the RAM on my Inspiron 7577 laptop. I don't know that much about RAM, or what my laptop is compatible with, so I thought I'd ask here. It currently has 8gb of RAM, but I find it slows down quite a bit when playing games, etc. I've heard that the best option is to add another stick of 8gb of RAM, but does it need to be the same brand/speed to be compatible with the current stick? I'm also looking for any black friday deals etc that are available!

I'm also looking for a new SSD. I saw that the EVO 860 is on sale now, and I was thinking of getting a 1TB. I'm a bit confused about the 2.5inch vs the NVMe though, are they the same thing but with different sizes to fit into laptops/PCs?

    I'd suggest taking off the backplate of your laptop to see what is has. use the same type of storage drive and the same type of ram if there is a spare slot.

    I feel there would have to be guides on this specific model already.
    For the black friday sales I recommend searching eBay with the 20% off code.

    Check temps when gaming before upgrading anything.
