Picked up the 128gb myself and had no problem with the Office Works price beat, this is the lowest price I'm aware of. A couple of people have had troubles with the price beat but I had no problems.

For any anti Apple people who are deeply offended at the price of their phones, just keep scrolling past this and save your rage for something that matters more than the phone people choose to buy :D

          Geelong. Apparently they have that site flagged for selling refurbished stock but that is impossible as it’s such a new phone. I saw someone mentioned they argued that and got the price beat but I had no problems at all.

      It seems hardly any Officeworks stores in and around Sydney stock any iPhones. At least not the few models I tried to look up. Nothing at all for postcode 2000, but plenty for 3000.

    Question people- please assist :)

    Is this company considered a third party?
    I'm trying to price match at harvey Norman with gift cards but always get resistance to price match a lot of other sellers.
    Does anyone think harvey Norman won't price match this? If it's within their terms and conditions , would I have a right to argue/ request for them to price match it or get a refund on gift cards?

      I don’t think Harvey Norman will price match it. It says if you find cheaper item at their competitor they will beat. They consider their competitor JB Hi Fi, Myers, Good Guys etc. For example on Good Guys website it says they will price match only from their competitor as well and I think they have given the list like Harvey Norman, Bunnings etc.

      But try doing price match at Harvey Norman with OW receipt. You might get lucky.

      On other hand OW will price match anyone as long as it’s in stock, same model, same colour and website url is .com.au or Aussie business company.

      Maybe don’t mention the gift cards until you actually go to pay.

      The problem with HN is that the business owner will face a loss with this type of matching and therefore will try to weasel their way out. Additionally their salespeople are paid on gross margin so they themselves often try to weasel their way out of price matching and even reuse to sell some of their own doorbuster type sale items.

    Couldn't find stock in Sydney area but I called and they did the price beat, with (free) click and collect to my nearest store for tomorrow. That was for the black 256GB.

      I am confused as the OW website says the "PBG cannot be applied to purchases made online".

      So did you call a Sydney store or the main store online?

      My preference is for a 64GB, but I'll "settle" for the 256GB. How much did yours come to? Is it $1,700 less 5% = $1,615?

    I called the OW price match number tel:1300633423
    Initially was told can’t match idealgadget due to different part numbers.
    Confirmed the part number is same for XR 128gb black.
    Order pickup in Melb CBD.

      Btw did anyone get an email confirmation when order from the telephone number?
      They charged me on credit card so I’ve got that but yeah a pickup notification would have been nice. Maybe it’s in the works.

    Can anybody advise on the TRS? Going away for Xmas and bought one as a gift. TRS website says there has to be a full name in the receipts for purchases over $1000, but Officeworks staff said they can't enter the name anywhere in their system, so the invoice comes with no name on it. Did anybody experience the same? Will be claiming it in Sydney airport if it makes any difference.

    I did get all excited when Apple sent email last week for their Black Friday sale and $70 gift card on iPhone purchase, but typical Apple only applied to last years phones.

    Worked for me as well.

    iPhone XR 128gb $1111.50 in Hobart. The staff at Officeworks were amazed. Paid with Coles Myer GC purchased at ~15% off from a deal last year.

    So total expense was only $950!

    Called Officeworks yesterday, they initially tried to claim that it was a fake website and that businesses don't list mobile numbers. He quickly changed his tone once I pointed out that a sole trader may only have a mobile phone, and that the ACN has been registered for over 10 years. However they had no red ones left in the country and wouldn't backorder one so still left empty handed.

I did call the store to ask about what was available first and they basically said they could order most in still - so asked specifically about the one my better half wanted and all good. Told them I wanted to price beat and asked what website was and they told me to come in to organise. Showed idealgadget website in store and they were more than happy to price beat. Pickup tomorrow.         Hi bkkim, I think she mentioned red, but didn't write them down as was only looking for Coral. They also had different colours dependent on capacity (eg 128GB vs 256GB), so red may have been in the 256GB.

    Got one after the rep spent a while on the phone. Head office said it was a bit grey so it was really up to him. He said he would do a one-off. I was trying to get Officeworks gift cards at 5% off but the Suncorp app only did physical ones and I would need to wait a few days so didn't end up holding out in case the Ideal Gadgets price goes back up. A great win regardless - thanks OP!

      I received my confirmation email a short while ago, still waiting for another email when it's ready to pickup. However the confirmation email contains the tax invoice.

    I always swore to my partner i'd never buy an iphone and tried my hardest to get her off the Apple bandwagon but after checking them out today and realising that all flagship phones are now 1k plus this isn't such a bad deal - they also hold their value amazingly well. Went for the XR 128GB as it seems like the best bang for buck - the girlfriend will be happy come Christmas time!

    As others have mentioned called the price match number on 1300633423 and delivered to my store of choice a day later - easy as!

      When looking at iPhones only, yes. Apple marketing is very smart: they have a very very, over the top expensive phone, and all others with lesser features are "best bang for buck".
