But 1.5ft is only extending by 50cm..

The product is a bit odd. Supports 20V 3A and 5Gbps data transfer, yet claiming Thunderbolt 3 compatible. 5Gbps is way too slow for Thunderbolt 3.

When it comes to USB 3.1 gen1/2 extension cable, longer is not better (as the signal degrades quite quickly). I bought a couple of cheap USB 3 USB-A extension cables (1m ones) a couple of years ago. Plenty of random drop outs / disconnects when using a USB 3 hard drive (even in 5Gbps mode). Shorter cable is safer, but not very useful.

Just stick with manufacturer provided cables for USB 3/3.1 or Thunderbolt 3 or proper cables. Avoid extension cables.

Ugreen is a Amazon Marketplace Seller of Chinese origin. They sell most of their products to Amazon US
Since the product uses the Amazon ASIN code. This is the standard product identification code used by both Amazon and all their Amazon Marketplace Sellers. Most Amazon ASIN codes are created from either the product's UPC (Universal Products Code) or EAN (European Article Number) barcode.

ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) ASIN is an acronym that stands for Amazon Standard Identification Number. … The buyer can find the unique ASIN on the specific item's product information page. It will also appear within the URL of that page following the items name and the letters dp. It's great for checking the products price and availabilty across most amazon sites.

In this case Ugreen can use the product ASIN code and cut and paste it across as many Amazon sites the Seller may be able to sell from. Some sellers use web-bots do the language tranlation and then manually check the translation for editing. Try reading their product descriptions if your want a giggle. The products are well made but the Chinglish instructions are pretty naf.

Type the following into Google Chrome (or Google Search):

      1.5 feet

I know people are very busy checking bargains, but with smartphones and Internet being ubiquitous, it shouldn't be an issue.
