Best price on a 8700K and choosing a mobo

So is there new egg the only place with the best price atm? Also wondering what Msi and Asus boards there are to choose from in the z370 range?

I think the best historic price is about the $420 mark, but it hasnt been nearly that cheap for over 6 months.

Was on the same boat as you, 8700k but then the 9700k was only $50 more, i reckon if you can, go 9700k.

Asus > Aorus/Gigabyte > MSI

  Actually one of the more solid boards for budget prices at the moment is the ASRock extreme4 Z390, from my research anyway. I don't actually have a 9th gen cpu myself.

  the problem with these 9th gen is they increased the cores so quickly the VRMs and architecture are struggling to keep up without throttling the CPU's.
  
  For 8th gen I haven't really kept up with the Z370's much, so i don't know about those.
