edit: there is a little bit of effort/time required in setting up the appstore initially, but it's well worth the effort as they are giving away 1 paid app for free daily!

edit2: The SoundHound infinity deal has expired so I have modified the heading, this is still is a good bargain as Amazon are giving away 1 free app a day (today is FruitNinja)!

    Great, except you need to have a US account…
    I just get an error
    "The Amazon App Store is not set up for your Country yet" (or something similar)

        Yep, fair call.. didn't read that far…
        But I agree with Hellbound. Call me lazy, but there's far too much effort required to save a few bucks on Apps I'll use very occasionally and are available for free (with ads) for the few times I ever do use them.

    I've installed the Amazon App store, but I can't even get the free apps unless I register my credit card with the Amazon 1-click ordering beast. Bugger that.

    Just tried out the Amazon trick and got it working quite easily. Only took 5 minutes to get it setup. Thanks for the tip :)

        i think angry birds rio on the amazon app store is the ad free version. The one on the market has ads i think..

    I have installed and used about 5 apps now from the appstore. If you follow the steps which are quite simple you shouldnt have any troubles

    While everyone's threshold for 'cant be bothered'-ness is relative, it seriously could not be much easier to get these apps…

    i've been searching for a few days for a way to get these apps and they all involved installing tors or vpns or proxies etc etc…

    i just cant believe that a) i found a solution on ozbargain and b) it's just THAT freaking easy.

    These are apps that you normally would have to pay for, so if you wanted them in the first place it would take you as much effort to put in all these details to register (in fact it was made that much quicker cos i pasted them from fakenamegenerator).

    Yea, search for it, the one that's 4.99 is the infinity(?), and then there's the free one.. Fruit Ninja is free as well :)

      The normal app has always been free. It's the infinity which is a paid app.

      i know i am thinking the same…not even one part that you using any of your real detail, fake name, fake address, fake credit card. you technically creating some non existence humans to get a free app. you call this a bargain?

      edit: oh and while ozbargain banning all these ghost accounts, this deal made it into front page. IRONY

      make sure u register ur email account in "united states" otherwise it'll still pick up ur region.

    Cant get this to work….do you think it may be because of the phone network, im trying to access it from? Annoying that it works for some but not others…..even set up the fake e-mail address.

    You can use a disposable email such as mailinator.com. Don't forget to add a valid US address and add a US credit card (does not need to be valid) and set the CC as the default 1 click pay. Well, at least that's what I've done.

      still doesn't work, do i need to be on vpn to use the appstore after registering? keeps detecting my region, even though i've registered hotmail under US address.
