RTX Graphics Card Failure Survey

I bought a RTX2070 and then a RTX2080 card. However, the RTX graphics cards are having a very high failure rate according to reports seen on forums and YouTube.

In China’s biggest PC hardware forum: Xianka Ba, there are reports of defective RTX cards everyday. That sums up to a horrible number now. Also we see a lot of people complaining on Nvidia official forum. Even some famous Youtubers get defective card such as GamerNexus and Joker.

It seems no brand or model is lucky enough to be exempted. RTX 2070,2080, 2080 Ti are all possible to be defective.
Now, to understand the situation better. I make an online survey to let us know how severe the situation is. If you have bought an RTX card, please spend 1 minute to answer up to 5 questions.

To help collect more data, please feel free to put it anywhere you judge suitable to collect real information. I personally will publish it on several forums.

Edit: For those with a good card: The 3rd question is about this. And if it is fine. You don’t need to answer question 4 and 5. A hint between Q3 and Q4 explained this. I wanted to add a automatic logic mechanism but it is a paid function.

  • i pre ordered mine and got mine, it works fine? how do I find out if its ''faulty''

    • Put it under load. Use 3D mark/games/prime 95/furmark to test it if you get some time.

  • Where's the option "my card works fine. no issues."

    • +5

OP has a stacked agenda, wants to see a 100% failure rate.

      • +2

Exactly. Obviously people only rant only when something goes wrong. Happy people just carry on their day.

    • The 3rd question is about this. And if it is fine. You don’t need to answer question 4 and 5. A hint between Q3 and Q4 explained this. I want to add a automatic logic mechanism but it is a paid function.

  • All new technology have a bathtub curve of some sort for failures. It is compounded with new lines where the factory level quality control isn't as aware of possible variables that will cause failure.

The failure questionnaire isn't really the best. How do you know the times people have been using the card?

    • I did think about it. Some cards may work for a month and then get defective. But to ask a person owning a “good card” how long he/she has been using it , a logic division (paid function) have to be added after the Q3. Without that it is tricky. People will lose their patience and close the window.

      • Fair enough. I would have just added a question after which card you have asking how long you have had it. You can then compare results. As the cards have only been out a couple months I would have had radio options for time ranges.

Hope you get some good data and things get RMA'd easily where needed.

        • Good advice. I can change the order of questions.

  • Yeah coz an anonymous poll won't have wrong answers messing with the data…

    • I want to make it easy with few questions. So that people are more willing to fill.

    • And I think people can be more skeptical if the survey asks about anything personal.

  • What were the results?
