Cheap laptop maintainence in Melbourne CBD?

Hi,

my laptop have terrible overheating issue.

Does anyone know any place that do cheap dust cleaning/ cooling gel application for laptops in the CBD area?

I do not have access to a car so it would be great if there's one that's accessible by tram, or train otherwise.

Oh, and it would also be great if there'd be express service where I could collect the laptop on the day itself or within a couple of days.

  • How tech savvy are you, why not do it yourself?

All you need is a screw driver set, some arctic silver, some alcohol (90%), air in a can, a vacuum and some cotton tips/tissues.

Either way, its going to be a time consuming event to pull the laptop apart. Most stores will charge $45-60/hr + parts.

  • If not, here is a list of stores that MAY be willing to help for a cost though

  • Thanks for the comment.

I'd never opened up a laptop on my life, and am not sure if I will mess up anything in the process.

The closest thing I did was cleaning up my desktops, but that seems a lot easier as the parts wasn't compact and it was pretty obvious where the parts belonged.

Furthermore I do not have any of the tools on hand now (no even screwdrivers).

Thus I thought it would be a better idea to get a professional to do it. Will get a quote and if it's too expensive I would have to try it on my own I guess.
