Direct Perth - Tokyo (Japan) Flights

Hi all, just an update I thought was worth sharing!

All Nippon Airways to announce direct Perth-Tokyo flights

While the Government remains tight-lipped about the deal, an industry source in Tokyo has confirmed that All Nippon Airways is expected to announce within weeks that it will start direct flights between Perth and Tokyo next year.

The West Australian understands from the source that the airline may launch the flights as early as April, although no flights are yet available for booking.

Neither WA Tourism Minister Paul Papalia nor Perth Airport chief executive Kevin Brown would comment because the deal was at a sensitive stage.

It is understood from the Tokyo source, however, that ANA’s management has approved the deal.

  • Probably the only tourists in the world that would be able to go to Perth and see things as "like-for-like" costing…
Are Swiss going to start flying from Zurich to Perth anytime soon?

  • Woop! No more smelly stops in KL

  • +1

Hopefully the price is cheaper or i'll still opt for a stop over in Singapore or east coast.

    • Not likely. Normally the most direct flights are the most expensive unless there are a number of airlines flying there that compete with each other.

  • Update!

WA’s struggling tourism industry has been given a big boost with the confirmation of a daily direct flight from Tokyo to Perth by Japan’s trendsetting seven-star airline, All Nippon Airways.

    …from September 1…

ANA’s daily Tokyo Narita airport-Perth service will depart Tokyo at 11.10am and arrive in Perth at 8.15pm. The return flight departs at 9.45pm, arriving in Tokyo at 8.25am. The airline will operate a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner that has 184 seats comprising 32 business class flatbeds, 14 premium economy and 138 economy seats.

    Exciting times!
