    To all you predictable negative nancies saying "that's some expensive cardboard" - it's really well engineered, perforated, and thought out. It's not aimed at the mature gamer types, but for the kids, it's great. The variety kit is particularly fantastic value - kept my 7 year old entertained for probably 8-10 hours building, and plenty more playing.

      I played with my 6 years old kid, I was surprised with the idea how Nintendo can innovate and integrate with a portable game console to such extent, and able to execute such flawlessly with few pieces of cardboards.

    I am thinking of building the variety kit with my 4 year old son. Is it a good idea?

      My 9 year old was struggling at times, so if you plan to do this with a 4 year old you will probably have to do most of the building (which is not a bad thing, I loved it).
