Spotify Premium (Non Family) Loophole Allowing Simultaneous Playback?

In case this helps someone with a Spotify Premium account. I recently installed the Windows app and I've noticed that I can play stuff on the Windows app and also be listening to something else on another device at the same time. Whereas if you try and play on two devices (phone / smart TV / PS4 etc) it only allows one device at a time. Have I found a loophole with the Windows app?

I've found this works sometimes as well - windows app + iphone, other times it will take control of the other

A workaround I've found is to sync your music for offline playback, then go offline on your devices. That will allow you to play music independently

Nice one, I'll have to try the Offline option. Nothing worse than going for a run, rocking out the tunes and all of a sudden the kids are trying to play the Wiggles!

  • Truth be told, I prefer only running on one device or another (because I swap my music between tv, phone, google home and computer). But the normal application has really been annoying me recently. Thanks heaps for reminding me theres an app I can use instead.
