  • Anyone have one of these?

    • I don't personally have one….but have slept on one….I found it to be very hard, but serviceable.

    • I do. It's comfortable as a bed, but a little bit too deep to be a comfortable sofa.

    • I have the old beddinge and sleep on it every night. Depending on which mattress you get, can start off very firm but breaks in after awhile. I like firm mattress though

      • Bought it yesterday for the base and cover, as we already had a thicker 400 dollar futon mattress, seems serviceable…

  • Is this at every ikea?

    • Should be. I've checked a random few and they are showing the same price.

  • Not the best looking couch but probably good for a spare room and extra bed.

    • This thing is ugly as sin and way overpriced when normal price

Recently had to buy a sofa bed for an incoming guest, tried just about all the <$1k ones available in store in Melb..

Concluded this type of fold down futon is more comfortable for 1 person than the fold out spring style, as all the mattresses sub-$1k on those are super thin and you can feel the support bars like the mattress isn't even there. Futon + soft topper from Kmart is the way to go if an actual mattress is off the cards.

Found this Ikea model was one of the more comfortable ones for sleeping I tried, and certainly the most comfortable out of the Ikea lineup. Comfort for couch use not as good, and of course it looks really cheap - ended up with another futon as I couldn't justify the $400+ price tag on this. At $200 this would have been a no brainer - as long as it isn't going in your main living area!

I have one. It's really ugly. With this price. it's good to get one for your guest room or Airbnb.
But you definitely don't want one in your living room. It's just like a mattress.
Also, it's not easy to clean. Avoid having drinks on it.
In summer time, when people sit on it and sweat, it becomes smelly within a short period of time.
You may want to put an extra cover on it.
