Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS) - Unconsumed Food?

I've spent $400 on these packaged macadamia nut bars as gifts for relatives, and $150 on creams from the same ABN.

I'm not sure whether I'm able to get a tourist refund on the macadamia nut bars as there isn't anything explicit about whether we can claim packaged, unconsumed food prior to check in (i.e. in the same place as liquids, oversized luggage etc)

All I have found is that "consumables wholly or partially consumed in Australia for example, food" cannot be claimed.

Anyone have any experience with this?

If it's not "wholly or partially consumed in Australia" then you can claim it.

You’ve answered your own question in your post. You’re asking if you can get the TRS refund on unopened unconsumed food, and the answer you pasted says that unopened unconsumed food is eligible for TRS.
