Claiming REFUND on eBay product (Retail store), PAID $70 but sent me a $99 INVOICE

Hi,

I was going to return some Wahl Clippers through eBay plus, however the store included an invoice for $99.
This store has retails stores, so I assume I can return it to a store for a refund of $99? I paid $70, as eBay ran 20% discount and I used a eBay gift card which I bought when they were 10% off.

I never thought about it, but could this be possible? I'd actually profit $30 if they refunded me and didnt give me store credit.

Thoughts?

Usually merchants only refund through the same way you pay.
So they will refund to your paypal and paypal takes its 20% coupon back.

ebay are pretty at scamming for their own benefit. I once ordered items using a $50 code for spending $200 on a given date. The order never arrived. The seller refunded…and then ebay claimed pretty much the entire amount to themselves.

    • ?

      • !

    • I had the reverse with paypal keeping the cut. Ordered item during 10% off campaign. Not as described, ebay refunded full amount. Paypal refunded paid amount. It was like a dollar difference, so I didn't care.

    • i experienced my first bad order off ebay today. the goods weren't in a good state. the problem is i used an ebay voucher which was redeemed from flybuys for the full payment. the t&c's state the voucher amount is not refunded if item is returned.

      • did you speak to live chat

  • Let's see what happens. It would be interesting if you get a profit, though obviously there is no entitlement to it.

  • Yeah, the item I bought was $99 and now is $89
If I even got store credit, it would still put me up $10? 😂

At the end, they were paid $99. It's eBay which took the 30% loss.

Stupid thing is, I bought a different set today from the same store. I should of waited, so credit does me no good.

    Choices to make.
