This card comes with a complimentary domestic return flight. My question is it possible to book the flight and then cancel the card before the date of the flight? Would I still be able to board the flight?

Yeah I did it with an old card - I booked the flight about in April before the card ticked over to the next annual fee period in May, and didn't have any dramas with the flight that was in July
