Is There a Way to Use Gift Cards to Buy Gift Cards

Hi after some advise, I thought I was on the ball for Christmas this year and thought I’d buy a crap load of gift cards and just buy it all in bulk rather then bit by bit and try to store everything through out the year.
Issue I now have is I have 4 kids left who I need to buy gift cards for as they already have everything they want so I planned on getting iTunes Xbox and hoyts cards for them.
The remaining gift cards are for target and Kmart so is there a way to use them or are they allowed to be used for those specific types of cards?
And just to clarify I have a limited and tight budget as I do have plenty of other expenses which will require the cash I will have over the next few weeks so I am trying to find a way to use what I already have which is the gift cards.
Thank you

    Huh???

    FYI it's advice

Could be a similar context to, for example, "some advise selling shares while others advise holding them".

      • OP's user is "Afteradvise". There's no context in which that makes sense.

@Quantumcat: Honestly wasn't me. I generally exhaust all my negs by mid-morning (And I use them in miserly OzBargain fashion anyway). Here, have a balance vote.

(I also didn't get the joke but I readily accept I have an unorthodox sense of humour.)

    • Thank you for the grammar correction, and it wasn’t a intentional spelling error It is the way my phone spelt it I use predictive text and click the words as they pop up and that was the way it came up thanks for pointing it out I did completely miss it.

afterpay and nimble to pay the afterpay?

  • and this is why cash is king for gift giving when too lazy to buy a gift!

    • When I was a kid and used to get presents, I didn't like receiving cash. I'd just put it in the bank and not spend it. If I was given a gift card (even if it wasn't specific eg. a Westfield shopping centre), I would make the effort to buy something I wanted.

      • I didn't like receiving cash

Thats your choice not to spend it.

Its no different having a $50 note or having a $50 giftcard.

The $50 note can be spent ANYWHERE and ANYTIME, unlike a gift card that has to be spent at a certain type of store and until recently within 12 months, the later has changed though.

I would make the effort to buy something I wanted.

You mean you had been forced to buy something you wanted so it didn't expire.

  • Issue I now have is I have 4 kids left

geez, how many kids did you start off with, and what did you do with the others????

    • the amount of kids I have is irrelevant to the question asked, you must not have many nieces and nephews to question having 4 kids left to buy a present for, but FYI I have 3 myself and had 21 kids to buy for all up

  • See today's 7% off Coles card through Suncorp Deal. Buying Ebay cards is stated as doable, so I guess other giftcards too.
