Is There Any Cheap Two-way around Method to Travel from ADL to MEL from 21/22 to 26 Dec?

Hi everyone.

I wonder is there any cheap two-way around method to travel from ADL to MEL from 21/22 to 26 Dec under $120-140?

Your help is really appreciated

    Drive?
Firefly bus? Bus I think would be $70 each way, so $140 return.
Surely there’s a website where you can group with other people going the sameness place and carpool.

    • Thanks guy, your suggestion is really helpful!

Advertise on Airtasker, I've had interstate lifts from there before and there will likely be a few people driving over and back during that period. Also try Australian Rideshare on Facebook.

Thanks, I'll have a look! Have a nice day!

      • Good luck!

  • Honestly you could drive that. Pretty sure even car rental + petrol one way should come in around that.

Yeah, thanks, I considered that option but it's quite out of out budget in total with other activities. Have a nice day!

    Drive or bus

Not safe and no guarantee of success but you could try hitchhiking to save a few bucks?

    • Yeah, I'm a bit worried about that too but it's an interesting suggestion! Thank you!

Drive if you own a car.
otherwise. you can still get air tickets for a bit more.

Are you asking about travelling one way from ADL to MEL departing anytime between 21st and 26th Dec or a return journey departing 21st or 22nd and returning on 26th?
If you are just going one way both Tigerair and Jetstar have fares below $120 every day except the 26th.

    • yeah, sorry, I meant two-way. Thank you very much!

    Walk.

    • Thanks! That's savage! 😂

      • It is the cheapest!

        • +1

It probably isn’t the cheapest if you really think what would be involved to walk that sort of distance - camping supplies, hiking gear, food, etc. Not to mention the time and leave from work you’d need to take in order to walk that distance then recover from it. Would be a great challenge plus it would be bloody boring and hot!

public transport, many bus lines, drive…. what options have you looked at?

    • Yeah, I have looked at plan and driving car but it's pretty out of our budget for other activities in the destination.

Walk, you should easily cover the distance between the 21st and 26th of December. Just make sure you have a big waterbottle.

according to google it would take 147h to walk ~ 722kms.
Let's assume you can walk 24 hours in a day ~5kmh an hour.
      You could do it.

      • haha, this makes my day! Thanks though

Why do people post these sort of things and then sod off somewhere without giving any feedback on the suggestions given? Common courtesy is to say thanks and reply to questions.

    • Agreed. Frustrating as hell.

Sorry, I have other stuff to do in a day and check it once a day! Have a nice day though!
