Vietnamese Ice Coffee

Went to a Vietnamese cafe/resto to order a Vietnamese ice coffee.

Waiter said that they have no ice and if that's ok with me to have a Vietnamese ice coffee without ice.

That just means you will get more liquid to drink, better value for money perhaps? I usually ask for "less ice" whenever I get a chilled drink anyway.

Just hope you won't get room temperature iced coffee…

    • Curious

What happens when you ask for less ice at a store selling bubble milk tea? Do they just put water instead? Or more milk?

      • Unless you specify toppings like jelly or boba, they usually just add more flavoured syrup water, which is usually the starting base / component of most milk teas.

    Slow morning?

  • Taste like Milo on steroids.

  • Asked the waiter if he was joking but not so…went next door instead.

  • I've had shit like this happen to me when working in bars with dodgy ice machines or none at all, it's the businesses fault for not stocking up this time of year

    • According to the ACCC the privatised retail electricity market is making small and large enterprise unviable.

Despite this, only the Greens chose to do the economically sane thing at the next election which is dismantle the privatised sector in favour of a nationalised system which was always much more efficient, cheaper and delivered way higher customer service levels including not having blackouts (the ACCC thinks customers don't mind blackouts).

Liberal and Labour chose to leave the current hopeless system in place so businesses cannot create new jobs because of exorbitant electricity rates.

      • Your vote for the PP won't solve that problem.

I put the bins out on Wednesday

    • If before 5am then you are good.. before 3am to be safe.

  • Yes

  • Wow. That is just outrageous.

  • You can have it warm or even hot.

  • I went to a cafe the other day and they ran out of cane sugar so I had to use raw sugar!!
The things we have to suffer through!

Ok…… and this needs a thread because?

    • +3

Strangely enough, it is one of the better threads for today. Certainly beats the guy who can't get a sofa delivered because the fridge is in the way, and the guy doing a song and dance over gym equipment.

      • IKR…… Move the darn fridge and enjoy the new 'sofa' but some things seem too complex for people!

        • Tomorrow: my alarm did not turn on and I paid $1 for this app and now I lost my job what should I do? sue the app or tell boss my app didn't work

      • You literally took the words right out of my mouth… (Well, hands).

  • No ice?!?! The goddamn pate in your banh mi better be on point then!

    bangs fist on table

  • Go to Springvale, always got ice!
Thu Thu in the central shopping building.

  • Did the Vietnamese coffee come from north or south Vietnamese
Very important you see.It is to do with the taste(old Vietnamese grinder)

  • any place that serves Vietnamese ice coffee with anything but crushed ice is a travesty.

  • On the flipside, a traditional sugar cane drink which has 3/4 of ice cubes is very disappointing.
