Family Swim with Dolphins Gold Coast/Sunshine Coast

Hello,

I will be travelling with my 3 children to Queensland in 10 days. Since I was a child I have always wanted to swim with dolphins in a bay? cove or supervised ocean tour? I've had a look on Google and most of the options mention swimming with humpback wales or seals? I have mixed feelings about Sea World so maybe not there for the experience. Any links or information would be very helpful.

THANK YOU

IMO only a douchebag would pay to play with a captive animal. Skip that option.

Not sure about where you could stumble upon dolphins in Qld. Swimming with them is different from seeing them from a boat. Maybe wait for an opportunity to visit Monkey Mia WA where you may find yourself swimming amongst free roaming dolphins right near the shore of a great beach.

    • You can't just randomly swim with them at Monkey Mia.

Yes you can. If they are there you can get right up to them; whether they're there is up to their own volition. When I went a couple of years ago they scanned the beach most of the day and snuck up on us multiple times and it was unbelievably beautiful- yet they did not show up at the feedings (which was great too - it stifles the sense of entitlement people have about expecting other animals to entertain us on demand.)

I don't think there is anywhere really that does this in SEQ.
