EU passport photo

Hi,

So I need to get my passport photo made for my EU passport, and apparently the EU is very anal about the photo and its details/dimensions/etc (more so than other countries), which also apparently differ from the Australian ones.

Does anyone know where I could go in Melbourne to get a passport photo taken that would comply with EU standards, OR go somewhere where I can provide a description of the criteria and have a perfect photo taken as per the criteria provided?

This is rather urgent, and I will probably need to have the photo ready for me before the open of business this Friday (8th Apr), if not open of business, then very soon after.

Thanks guys

I've used them before and it is free. Upload the photo, and mark the edges of your face. It creates a jpeg you download and can get printes at somewhere like Officeworls for 15c. Saves heaps.

    • Only problem with this is, they wont tell you if your eyes are too squinty, of if you are smiling too much, or generally if there is anything wrong with your picture….

      am i correct?

      • It's a password photo, not a beauty contest :-D

      • Just be natural. You could try to smile lightly so you look cheerful.

Don't show any strange or weird face expression that would leave the customs people a deep impression.

Also, don't use too much makeup (I am assuming you are a lady) and dress naturally for your upper body (Nothing fancy). Don't forget your hair style, too.

PS.Passport is a very important document, similar to personal IDs, especially when you are abroad.

Hope that helps a bit. My apologies for using so much 'don't's.

        • not lady, man haha (not the first time my user name has been interpreted as a lady :P). but that's ok, still some relevant points to take on board, however as i have mentioned, I do have all the guidelines that the photo must comply with (75-80% of photo must be taken up by face, shoulders must be included, mouth closed, etc etc, among 20 other criteria). What I am looking for is an eagle eye, that would be able to spot a photo that would likely be rejected, or on the other hand ideally, be able to spot a photo that would definitely not be rejected.

llama, unfortunately, I am in quite a hurry to get my passport, and I cannot afford the forms being sent off, then rejected because of a poor photo (which I have been lead to believe is not an infrequent occurrence with EU passports), and having it delayed by 3 more months, so it does need to be perfect.

The steps that I went through for my Italian passport are as follows:

    1. Grow mustache to look more Italiano.
    2. Take Photo.
