Best value for money 4k IPS Monitor

Looking for best value for money 4k 32 inch IPS monitor and have been so undecided on what to go for. I am 100% decided on IPS and 32 inch screen size.

Firstly, I am a moderate gamer with a Nvidia 1080. I've currently got a two 1080p IPS AOC monitors (60hz max) and it's been okay for gaming. I've never noticed screen tearing (V-Sync on with FPS capped at 60fps for games). I don't know if G-Sync is worth the investment.

I am interested in a decent colour gamut for photography editing. Not particularly keen on 8-bit + 2-bit FRC.

I'm thinking it might be a better option to get a 4k monitor for photo editing, without any bells and whistles (as cheap as possible) and invest in a separate 2k gaming monitor. With this said, I haven't seen a cheap 4k ips 32inch monitor. The Acer XB321HK seems to be a low to midrange but it has everything, even gaming centric features.

Any thoughts?

  • the one i'm selling, oh wait it's not 4k. you don't need 4k anyway! :)

    • They seem like good monitors but seem too expensive considering something like the Acer XB321HK which, besides HDR, does all of that with gaming-centric features (G-Sync) and it's cheaper. The Acer XB321HK is $1k atm.

    BenQ PD3200U

Computer Alliance have most of them.
Wait till they have a 10%, 15% or 20% off sale on eBay.

    • Crazy accurate colour gamut but over the top for what I need. That is professional and beyond for editing - I want something that does a reasonable job (still 10 bit native) but a monitor like this would be suited to a professional photographer.

This monitor doesn't scream value for money, as much as I love it.

      • In that case go for the XB321HK as there's no other monitor that fits your description with g sync

        • It's more the fact that the XB321HK has G-Sync and is cheaper. Not sold on G-Sync.

What I was hoping for was a monitor similar specs to the XB321HK, without G-Sync and therefore maybe $200 cheaper…

          • @dandev: There are cheaper but they're 43"

@follow: Yeah, the Phillips and Viewsonic 43 inch monitors. Just way too big…

I'm literally looking for that except smaller. It's either 28 inches or 43 inches - nothing in between.

Looks like the XB321HK with all the bells and whistles is actually also the best value for money in that segment…

Thanks for assisting with the decision. Might pull the trigger on that after all.

  • Similar query as above however also looking for monitors with HDMI 2.1 and a screen that could support 120hz for the Xbox series X, does not need top-notch HDR performance, any suggestions?
