wow, this is a must have game especially at this price

  • +5

soon enough they are going to be paying people to take this game. How is such a new game so cheap!

    • They have warehouses full to the brim with stock?

      • +2

And robots to pick and pack the orders.

    • Getting ready for a GOTY edition/DLC release, probably.

  • +17

Mine is still sitting in the Amazon packaging from the deal before this… shame… shame… shame…

    • +3

Stop what you're doing and start playing.

      • +1

Do I have to stop my heart as well?

      • +5

After RDR2, and Spiderman, and AC: Odyssey…

        • +3

Not even joking, this is my exact shame pile right now.

        • Man, I really did not enjoy AC. It was fun for about 5 hours, then the next 20 hours were just rinse and repeat. Typical AC gameplay but with a little bit of rpg elements that were lack lustre at best. Not sure what Ubisofts deal is but they don't seem capable of making varied and engaging gameplay. It's just template cookie cutter nonsense to me.

          • @ONEMariachi: Yep. Same. Can't see the appeal of any of the AC titles. They all feel the same with slightly different clothing.

    • +1

same same, from the $29 deal

      • +9

It will be $19 next week, going to HODL.

  • +3

Thanks. Don't have a PS4 but bought it for a friend. This is gift-level pricing, especially with prime.

    • +17

I'm considering buying for myself and don't have a PS4.

  • Buy it if you haven't already.

    • +1

But I haven't finished RDR2 or Spiderman yet.

      • +2

This is the problem, people are already backloged with other 20-30 hour games.

        • Yeah I bought this, spyro and gt sport on BF while half way through rdr2. Finished that and spyro. GoW, HZd, witcher3, bloodborne, mgs5 all just sitting there.

          • +2

@abuch47: Horizon Zero Dawn. First game where I've wanted so much 'story' I actually read everything you can read instead of just skipping through it.

          • @abuch47: Haven't gotten round to GoW4 but Horizon is better

        • +2

Yeah I still have Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn to finish. I wish Sony still had a portable device so I cpuld play on the train. Would instantly buy the Switch if there were more PS4-like titles available on it.

    • +6

      Crawl back into your hole.

      • Don't know why but this reminded me of Stimpy crawling into his belly button.

    • Or people against armed conflict

    • I still played. Since you get to kill gods in God of War series, atheists have no issue killing gods (since we don't believe in them anyway).

    • +6

what JV? how is that even a joke?

    • +2

      cringe

  • +4

    And the backlog grows….

    • +2

I'm sitting at about 20 games. 15 of which are PS4. And for some reason I just bought a 2DS XL.

My Switch hasn't been used in a while, either.

      Why am I doing this?

      • Haha! Would you believe I'm shopping around for a Switch at the moment? Although I do fear it would become much like yours, unused and covered in dust.

Currently playing a mix of Battlefield V on PC, Spiderman, Spyro & Red Dead 2 on PS4… I don't know if I should buy God of War, too lol.

        • I'm 90% on Spider-Man. Have told myself that I will not start something new until it's done.

      • Sold my ps4 so i can focus switch and 3ds.

        • +2

I think I like the idea of having a Switch more then I would owning one. I've played MK8 remake, played Mario Odyssey… none of them grabbed me as much as I hoped they would.

What games were the deciding factors in getting you from PS4 to Switch?

          • @stygian: would like to know as well.. bought switch over black friday, still in the amazon box.

thinking zelda or octopath.. but can not justify the price

            • -1

@danz84: Zelda is available on an emulator for PC. I grabbed it over a year ago, haven't touched it. Another reason why I'm not sure re: Switch.

            • @danz84: Well, if you like I could take it off your hands 🤷‍♂️

              • @chemical-miracle: I am planning to play them though.. surely there is lots of sale for switch now probably only 20 or 30 diff from black friday

          • @stygian: I like old school games, and it is nothing near modern games, and I just can’t handle fps game well i get terrible motion sickness after 30 mins of play.

I prefer handhelds which i can power up anytime and anywhere.

      • +7

Consider yourself lucky you haven't wasted as much on games as me. I have over 80 games on back log across the PS4, X-box, Switch, 3DS and PC. Gaming becomes an issue when the GF and friends aren't gamers….. I still can't help myself buying games though and I put it down to my childhood when the folks would only buy a handful of games for me for the Megdrive. Mind you cartridge games were up to $100 back then, which was a lot. I don't think the kids realise how lucky they are these days with the price of games and consoles!

        • Thats your fault. I Only buy games I'm going to finish. I save alot of money this way and I never ever have buyers remorse. " Winning "

          • +1

@GoldcoastJoe: I only buy games that are on sale, or with coupons, codes etc. Think of all the money I've saved! The true Ozbargainer way of thinking :)

  • +3

Omg! Gotta buy it at this price but have so many other games I haven't even touched from these recent sales!

    • +2

      Add it to the backlog.

      • +2

        Story of my life…

  • Any chance I'd be able to use 2 copies of this for JB's trade 2 get your game free deal?

    • +1

      I don't believe so…

"Maximum of 1 copy of any particular title per transaction per person each day."

      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/features/games/disclaimers/

But you might get a good person at the counter who won't mind.

    • +1

I am new to this trade thing, can I use 2 ps4 games for 1 switch game?

      • yeah

        • Does it work for all games? I'm assuming collector's editions are excluded

          • +1

@touchmylemon: Yeah usually the standard editions, I believe they can also let you do a preorder if its in the system

  • Yeah thanks bought it

  • So good

  • +3

    Buy it now, Boy!

  • This, is, CHEAP!

  • GDI amazon you win. Into the backlog you go GOW

  • damn that's an amazing price. when it was $29, bought two copies and sold for $40 each but this time I am gonna keep it

  • WAT.

  • +1

Boy that’s a good price but it will go into my pile of shame if I buy it still very tempting though.

  • +1

Wow 25$ is dirt cheap for this game

  • +8

People buying it for the backlog
Wait 6 months: 2 for $40 at JB.
Wait 5 years: God of war 4k collection for PS5.
    Wait 6 years: 4k ver is $25.

    • +3

no thanks, i'll wait for 8K VR remake

  • +1

    Buy it boy.

  • +5

How GoW can be released in April of this year, win the Game Awards GOTY, and come down to $25 for the holidays is beyond me.

Meanwhile Nintendo 1st party titles released more than a year ago are still full price at $60+, why man?

    • What about GTA V?

      • I think the online component is what kept GTA V at such a stable price.

        • Only rockstar games stay in firm price for a while. Apart from Nintendo games that is

    • You have to pay the Nintendo tax. It's always been this way. If you looking for a bargain in games never buy a Nintendo product because you will be disappointed. Price wise. Their Games are great

    • +2

Apart from what other people have already said, it also strengthens the perceived value and brand of Nintendo products. I have no problem (sometimes) preordering Nintendo games or buying them on launch day because they've built a reputation of consistent quality in their first party properties AND launch day is ironically when first party games are at their cheapest.

Because of the constant drastic price drops of games on Xbox and PlayStation, I never feel like buying a game at launch regardless of how good its reviews are or how much hype is surrounding it because I know it will be ~$20 a year later and I'm happy to wait.

      • strengthens the perceived value and brand of Nintendo products.

Not necessarily. Nintendo Software comprises of some of the highest rated games out there, however sales and pricing are equally important throughout the release schedule and console life cycle.

Have a look at regional sales numbers for both hardware and software sales, there's a clear reason why Sony is dominating the market as the best selling console and the system with most software sales - their base console prices are on par with or cheaper than the standalone Switch. Switch software bundles are about as expensive as the PS4 Pro models, and software for PS4 is peanuts compared to 1st party Nintendo.

There's got to be some sense in the pricing, not just quality.

  • +3

Next time a AAA Sony Playstation single player game comes out I won't be buying it right away and waiting at least 6 months

    • -1

You telling me you're going to wait 6 months to get the last of us 2?

No way, no how. You'll be there on release day like the rest of us.

      • -1

The last of us 2 has online multiplayer components it does not count. Sony exclusives single player games only with 0 multiplayer.

      • I'll probably be there on release. TLOU was probably the greatest game I've played. Definitely in the top 3.

    • Next time a AAA Sony Playstation single player game comes out I won't be buying it right away and waiting at least 6 months

I bought GoW at launch and sold once I’d finished about 3 weeks later for $5 less than what I paid for it. Used copies are still going for around $40 on eBay.

      • Which is why I generally don't buy digital copies of games.

I can typically buy a game (second hand) play for a bit and resell for about the same as what I originally paid…

  • Fine! I got it! Stop hassling me..

  • Thanks OP. :D

  • +2

And yet PSN still has it for $99

I really wish digital version were competitive on price

    • +2

They rely on those suckers that have no idea of the bargains out there.

    • it was on sale for $40 a few months ago. I bought it.

  • Will JBHIFI pricematch Amazon and then give the $10 digital receipt voucher too???

    • +2

No, I went instore (Chadstone, Victoria) yesterday and asked 3 different employees if they'd pricematch any items on Amazon, and they all replied "We only match physical Australian stores".

The $10 voucher is still a valid offer though for other purchases.

  • Still the best of Action Game

  • +1

    Up to $39 now :(

    • It's still $25 once added to your cart.

Edit: It's showing $25 again anyway.

  • Same. Seeing $39 now

  • i got this when it was $59 and barely played it, regret should have waited as i got hooked on RDR 2

  • +1
  • Bit shit seeing at I bought it at $35 the other day. Phenomenal price though. Great game from the looks (hasn't arrived yet)

    • Did you buy it from Amazon? If so, you should ask chat support if they can refund the difference.

      • tried that the other day on an item and they said no so i had to rebuy the item cheaper and send it back from the first purchase. waste of everyones time and amazons postage.
i guess they do this as a disincentive as most ppl cant b botheed.

  • -3

    Deal resisted,

bought RD2 ,barely play. My best investment so far is Xcom 2, and divinity 2 maybe the best thing to conquer

  • Cheers OP.
