after suggestions, i have $1200 to spend whether it be new or second hand off marketplace. I cant justify spending $2000+ on a pair of Zipps or Enves that i have a high chance off binning within a few months.

Probably not the right forum for that question. Most of the bike relat d questions here are focused at the Kmart end of town.
2nd hand off one of the Facebook swap groups. I use Reynolds (Assault on front, Strike on rear). You sometimes see Bontrager Aeolus or Vision Metron wheels going cheap on the FB swap pages. If you are OK with Tubs they seem to go cheaper on the 2nd hand market.
