GC8 Wheel Fitment Help

hey guys i own a 1998 impreza and i need advice on a new set of wheels

i'm planning on buying 17x7.5 rims with 215/40/17 tyres but the issue i'm having is with fitment.

all the rims i've liked have an offset of +40 or +45…

so the question i'm trying to asking is, will an offset of +40 or +45 look good and not rub on a gc8? i don't want the wheels to stick out past the guard but i'm getting lowered king springs for it later down the track too so i'm okay with rolling the guards (but not pulling them) if that offset doesn't work completely stock.

all the forum posts i've read generally say they run 17x7.5 with +48 offset but i've seen a couple guys who say they're running +35 offset and 245/45/17 tyres but they don't say whether they rolled or pulled the guards.

    I've seen people put on GD WRX/ STI rims on GC8 without issues. Not sure of the offset of these stock rims but would be a good guide for you.

      +53 is the offset on the stock 17x7.5 sti rim which is a lot more further in than i'd like

    I'm running the V7 17" STI rims on my V6 STI. I've got RE003's 245/45/17 on them. Back tyres scrub on top of the tyre if there is a dip/bump in the road. Side wall is clear. Join the Subaru Club Melbourne page or the WRX/STI Owners Australia pages on FB.
