I've had these for awhile now and honestly they're probably the best PC headset I've ever owned.

The surround sound is garbage, of course ('virtual' surround sound always sounds terrible anyways). I don't even use the USB "sound card" and just plug mine straight into the audio jack. Didn't notice any difference between using stereo via Mobo audio and the USB audio (though USB seems to be very quiet).

The cable is finally starting to permanently twist, though after daily use for about a year that is to be expected. Definitely considering buying another, though I was hoping there was an equivalent model without the USB adapter.

I second this entirely. Paired with a Soundblaster card these cans are amazing.

No it's just that not all algorithms work with all ear shapes which it relies on to work properly.

    • This reads like you would have been better off with picking up the original Revolvers on clearance… same headset sans USB.

      • I should have, but I got suckered into the hype for virtual surround sound. Lesson learned.

edit: and I'd still very much consider paying the premium for another pair since the non-S version is no longer available and I loved everything else about the headset.

  • Good timing. My sons Hyper X Cloud II headphone jack just died in the ass! Great price. If i was more handy I'd attempt to repair, but no such luck

  • I have the non surround version, so just the hyperx cloud revolver (red ones), had to replace the ear cups on them this week as they both split within a day of each other, they lasted around 2 years and cost $30 to replace. This is the best PC headset I have owned, might not be the best in the world, but for the price and from what I have tried these are great for PC gaming and music on the side. I've had no issues so if you are in the market for a PC headset this is probably it. I would have picked these up if I didn't just replace my earcups haha.

  • Is the S version worth the extra $$$?
