Queen Size Mattresses on a Budget. I Need Help!

I'm moving apartments and am in need of a new bed, nothing too fancy (currently on a futon).

From my brief look online, I can tell that this one's going to break the bank.

Hoping that someone's got some tips and tricks.

*** UPDATE ***

Budget under $350 + shipping. I'm on a budget but I'm lazy

    Another +1 for zzzatelier.

That mattress has no right to be that comfortable, considering it comes in a vacuum sealed cylinder and especially at that price.

  • Anyone recommend a cheap one that is super soft?

Bought one from Aldi for $200 and it has a medium feel

    • get a mattress topper .

I know not a true ozbargainer comment, but some things you can save, while others money is not that important. Would of thought- sleep and therefore a mattress that you are comfortable in, is one of these?

We have always had Ikea. I like that you can go and lie on them to test them out, rather than some of the online ones.
However, we recently upgraded our 10 year old mattress. We bought an upper/mid range one because we thought it was worth spending the money.
Egads, we both started having serious back pain… so bought a topper. Pain still there! So then bought the most expensive topper. WORSE!

    Stupid ikea…

at least they have a 365 exchange policy, but I spoke to them saying this would be our 4th iteration if we do an exchange, and they said they'd consider store credit if it's a quality issue.

Our friends paid $3500 for theirs eek
