Xiaomi M365 Electric Scooter $599.20 Delivered @ Tech Mall eBay

900
PLUGIT20

I was looking for a fast way to part with cash to the NSW Office of State Revenue and possibly maim and injure myself in the most hilarious way possible. Nothing funnier than an old, fat guy falling off a scooter to make the kids laugh and the other parents moan…

While the prices are around the $700 plus mark for Aus stock, I wasn’t really interested, but this came up on my list today, and I thought, pull the trigger time… Ok, it's not the cheapest it's ever been, but it's pretty close.

InB4: screeching about being illegal to use in public and price jacking. No problem, I have plenty of places I can ride it on private property and the price has remained the same for almost 2 months. Yeah, Ok, other places have it a bit cheaper, so when those places have a 20% off deal, feel free to post it.

How did you get around the 250w motor being 50w over?

  • +5

    Here you go.

    https://m365.botox.bz

If your on 1.41 or later you need to downgrade first. Google how to. Not hard to do.

Love how this guy is selling a full on fake replica of this item - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Folding-Electric-Scooter-with-Xi…

Putting a Xiaomi mi logo on it for the fitness band that's 'included' is confusing people into thinking this is the real Xiaomi m365 scooter ;-/

    Thumbs up for the post.

    Had a laugh.

Guys - when I was in Singapore I was choosing between this model and the eTwow Booster Plus. I found the eTwow more powerful with better climbing ability and suspension. Its in a similar price bracket too from memory - check it out.

    • These make excellent last mile(s) solutions. Great to run up to the shops / coffee / dinner instead of driving
    • Recharge using solar panels if you have = free transport
    • Don't leave the battery uncharged for a long period of time
    • Don't use power assist near people, when near people peddle with your feet only.

But you don’t have a problem with bicycles or mobility scooters. Bicycles can do far in excess speed wise than what these things can and same with mobility scooters. Mobility scooters are larger and a lot heavier.

If you hate them, just say you hate them. Don’t make up some ill informed excuse to justify hating on something.

And the guy that you borked off his scooter is by far the better person in that scenario. If anyone did that to me, I would have force fed them my scooter.

    • +2

      That didn't happen…

    • What about runners on a footpath and you could not keep your child under control and the runner collided with the child?

  • Dang didnt know these are illegal and didn't realize they are so expensive.

  • I ordered this from tech.mall on 21/12/18 and it said expected delivery was ~27-28 Dec, although after seeing "DELAYED" on my aus post tracking, and the comment above by 'lolitsme' re: mid-jan for delivery of new stock, I am not confident about timely arrival of my scooter - ah well

    • +1

Yeah, I just checked mine that i ordered and it has been posted "express" and due date was today. Says it has been picked up and is "in transit" from Chullora, NSW. So, I guess that means middle of next week considering today is friday, then the weekend and then new years holidays… :/

I cant blame Tech Mall for Aus Posts shitty service.

      • Okay, and yes, no blame on Tech Mall for AP delays, although I cannot fault AP around xmas time.

I did just receive a message back from tech mall on ebay:

        "
        New message from: tech.mall
        Hi
there is inventory error on ebay, new stock coming in January, we will refund now if you can't wait
        "

although…. I have an australia post tracking number and email saying "It’s on its way" - so would you reckon I got in just before the stock tanked? or, will i be waiting until mid jan…

        • Hard call. It might be worth the refund and waiting for a better deal, as there is always better deals coming. Even a day after this there was a better deal that came out with extra tyres and it was cheaper…

      • +1

I’m in the same boat. Ordered the same time and my item has been “Sent” express however tracking number shows as “Delayed”.

I don’t think anything has been sent, and that they do this to be able to mark them as complete.

        • +1

Got a feeling you are right. Well, they will be getting suitable feedback from me once it finally gets here…

I know what they sometimes do is have a wharehouse take control of deliveries. They don’t hold the stock, it’s kept at a distribution warehouse. The order goes through and it’s picked and sent. I think what has happened here is that they have sent the orders through and there is no stock, so it just comes up as delayed.

The other reason that they do this is so it is marked as posted. Aliexpress does it all the time. Sellers there have 48 hours to post your order or they get punished, so you always get a fake tracking number as your first tracking number. Then, after you enquire about it, they will “chase it up” and tell you it was lost or rejected at customs.

Got a feeling the same bullshit shenanigans is going on here.

          • @pegaxs: Maybe we have all been given the same tracking number? Yours end in 0306?

            • @snaggot: nope. It's close to what i have, and yours seems to be only a few orders after mine… Gonna make a phone call.

            • +2

              @snaggot: UPDATE:

Just called AusPost (and waiting 30 mins. you can thank me later) and they said that it was received after the cut off time and is still in transit. It has left Chullora and is at my local sorting facility and is scheduled for delivery on wednesday.

So, here is hoping. Will update with any more info that comes through.

              • @pegaxs: @pegaxs and @snaggot thanks for updating; I got an ebay message from the seller today (techmall) saying

                "Hi good news
the scooter back in stock, and already shipped today
                cheers

                Gaming City Customer Service Representative"

Regarding what you say above about drop-shipping, that is disappointing. I am not surprised, but it is hugely frustrating to select a specific seller and compromise on various things in order to have something due to it being "located in australia" only to go through this garbage. Any prudent course of action? Or just review and learn for next time?

Good luck recieving your items - if I remember, i'll comment here when I get mine.

                • @GenghisGun: Thanks for the update.

Mine is still stuck in Chullora and just makred as "in transit" has been since 27/12…

                  In transit - Thu 27 Dec • 06:29pm
                  CHULLORA NSW

      • I got an item ship on 27/12 and it got deliver today.
Transit from Chullor too, but it is not the same item

  • Anyone receive their item yet or are we all chilling in chillora

  • My latest update - Seller is a muppet,

In transit delay - Dangerous goods declaration not signed
    STRATHFIELD NSW
    Date & time Thu 03 Jan • 01:41am

    • Hahaha… Idiots. They are at best getting a neutral feedback from me if that is why mine is being held up.

And why should this matter if it's domestic land freight???

      • Mine was just delivered, you?

        • +1

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU….. no. Still listed as "In transit: Chullora"

          • @pegaxs: The plus side is that it came with the spare wheels that the other deal listed. Hope you get yours today!!

Note: you will need an aussie figure 8 cable to charge it.

            • @snaggot: The extra wheels might just be part of the standard package then?? If so, smart marketing on the other companies behalf.

And one thing i am not short of here is figure 8 electrical cables :D

              • @pegaxs: Looking at the serial number, mine is a “European Black M365” - I think it’s the EU versions that come with the extra wheels.

Running the CFW on it make a huge difference.

                • +1

@snaggot: Ill keep and eye on that for when my arrives in 2020. Should be good when it arrives this time next year… :D

                  • @pegaxs: @pegaxs

Mine is also still "delayed" and allegedly in Chullora since 21-Dec. Utterly ridiculous. Seller keeps sending me patchy msgs like:

"Hi its already picked up by the pallet,
and they will be scanned when they reach a processing facility

                    Gaming City Customer Service Representative"

It is just endless, and the aus post tracker hasnt updated in weeks.

                    • +1

@GenghisGun: Yeah, I have put in a dispute with both Tech.Mall and Ausport. See who gets on top of it first.

I get it, it's Christmas time rush and all, and I wasn’t expecting it in 24 hours, but after 2 weeks, I would expect the tracking information to change at least.

                      • @pegaxs: Still nothing. No change to tracker, no comms from seller, no reply from Aus Post Customer enquiry lodged 30 Dec. Admittedly, the seller did indicate new stock would be mid-Jan, but the indications of it being shipped already are annoying.

                      • @pegaxs: Messaged seller, as I did not believe them about shipping, response: "Yes it has been shipped at 2/1.
please wait until early next week for the item to arrived"

Every time the seller reassures me with a completely different date…

                        • @GenghisGun: I got a message from AusPost today saying that they are still chasing it up and have no idea where it is up too… the typical “hang tight” excuse to appear as they are looking into it.

I got a feeling that because the pickup and dispatch time was 5 mins apart, that this is a holding number. When stock gets here in middle of Jan, it will start moving on the tracking again and Auspost will just say “we found no problem”

                          • @pegaxs: Hey mate, I got a reply to my customer enquiry about missing item this morning stating:

"I've checked the tracking details for parcel ******** and I can see that we have recently seen a record of it passing through Sydney sortation facility yesterday. I am unable to determine where the parcel has been since lodgement on the 21st December and yesterdays scan, however I will keep this investigation open so we may monitor the scans and movement on the parcel."

Seeming like either I/we were lied to about when the item was shipped, or this is the worst express shipping in history.

Side note, Aus Post also said:

"I can also see due to the service used that the Sender is a Business Customer of ours. It may be beneficial, if you haven't already, to let them know you have not yet received your article. They may either send you a new article and/or lodge an enquiry with us through their Business Channel to get it looked into. The best news about this is their response time is a lot quicker, so you won't be waiting around a long time for an answer."

                            whatever that means

                            • @GenghisGun: Mine was just delivered - what a ride.

                              • +1

@GenghisGun: Hot damn! Me too. Arrived today while i was out. Picked it up an hour ago and put it together. Gonna charge it, read up on how to upgrade to custom firmware and go riding tomorrow when it isnt asphalt melting temps.

Auspost sent me a little survey to ask how they did…. well, bolt yourselves in Ausport, because it's about to get all hot and sweary up in this email…

  • so do you have to buy a power adapter for this? I see it comes with just a two round prong point? Are they safe to charge via adapter etc? Anyone know more

    • +1

You can either use an adaptor, or if you have a spare “figure 8” (IEC-C7) electrical cable, it will plug into this unit, no issues. If not, Bunnings will have them for a few bucks each.

      • Appreciate this. Would of just bought an adapter think i have a iec-c7 lying about.

    • Its an EU plug… a simple $5 converter will do fine!
I've been charging it on the Xiaomi strip power outlet I brought for $14 from eBay sometime ago!

I reached out to Vicroads about rules surrounding escooters, and they responded that the National Transport Commission NTC is running a review paper and accepting submissions. This appears to be national policy.

    https://www.ntc.gov.au/submissions/

I suggest all those here who are interested in having a voice heard and advocating the legalisation of e-scooters nationally to write in with their submissions, due by 28th Feb 2019.

    • Maybe post this information in one of the forums? It will gain more interest than a dead deal post. Good find though, will definitely look into it.
