Fishmonger in Sydney Eastern Suburbs

Hi, I know I go the Sydney Fish Market but it seems very touristy these days (been 4 times over the past 15 years) with prices to match.

I'm staying in the CBD and going to visit Maroubra to have a seafood lunch at the beach.

I want to find a fishmonger between say the CBD and Maroubra (I'm driving) that has cooked Balmain Bugs, crab, prawns, oysters and Sashimi (Sashimi isn't essential).

Can you recommend one that will be open on the 27th December.

If not, I'll go to the Syd Fish Market and brave the parking and tourist.

Cheers and Merry Christmas

If you don't have any luck and your staying in the CBD, you can catch a light rail to the fish market and back - avoids having to find a park.

    • Thanks, I'm actually staying near Chinatown so could walk there in 20mins (according to Google Maps) but thank you for your suggestion.

I'm not too familiar with the light rail system.

There is very nice fish market that has been renovated well within the last 2 months called 'The Fish Market' in Pacific Square, located in the same complex as Coles here in Maroubra. You could give them a call to see if they sell what you're looking for (02) 9344 0376.

    • Perfect, this is exactly what recommendation I'm looking for.

I gave them a call and they have what I'm after. I forgot to ask about Sashami.

      Many thanks.
