LG 70" Ultra HD Smart TV 70UK6540PTA $1489.60 + Delivery @ Videopro eBay (Excludes NT, WA, SA, TAS)

PLUGIT20

Hey guys, I figure most of you are already aware of the plugit20 deal on eBay and also that it is mostly BS (for example this tv is marked up like $176 vs the videopro website).

I still thought this was worth mentioning as it's just about the cheapest I've seen a 70" tv on here and I'm considering buying one (can't speak to the quality personally but the reviews on Google seem average to good).

It's $1566 shipped to Qld using the plugit20 coupon on videopro. You can also use whatever the 10% off coupon is and buy from Goodguys eBay site for about $1580 of you'd prefer.

Not bad a bad price, but the picture quality is sub par compared to the NU7100 and Sony 65"/75" IMO. Rtings rate it ok.

    • Yeah I had a look at the Samsung, but it was still a few hundred bucks more. I've had a Samsung in the past and it was a nice TV.

I'm sure there are better options if you're willing to pay a bit extra but I'm not that clued in on the feature sets these days anyway (edge vs backlit, OLED etc)

Just my preference but I'd rather save $600 and pay only $895 for the 60" model.
Yes it is the UK6200 compared to the UK6540, but the only features you lose are:
    - local dimming
    - ultra luminance
    - voice control
    - google home compatibility

And you actually get arguably better lighting, as the UK6200 is direct-lit compared to UK6540 edge-lit.

    • Hi jimmyjb

I was looking to get the

Hisense 65 P6 but wanting to pay below $1000. ( At present it is $1064 delivered from Appliance Central)

How does the Hisense compare with the UK6200? Yes it is 60" but the price is better

      • Hey Raz,
I'm no expert on TVs by any means, I just find the full specifications.
Also note it's not ideal comparing between brands, as they all use special names for basic things such as lighting or contrast solely to make it sound better for marketing purposes. So it's not 100% apples to apples.

        Hisense P6 65" vs LG UK6200 60"
        - OS (Vidaa 2.5 vs webOS)
        - Lighting (both have direct lighting)
        - Ports (Hisense has an extra HDMI, otherwise all the same)
        - HDR (both have HDR10)
        - Colour Depth (both have 10 bits)
        - WiFi and LAN (both have)
        - Bluetooth (none vs v4.2 bluetooth audio)
        - Dimming (both have none)
        - Google Home compatibility (both seem to have none)

So ultimately the only difference is the operating system. I highly doubt bluetooth or an extra HDMI port are factors, so you just need to think about which OS you prefer and if you think it's worth paying the extra $170 for 5" larger.
Personally I'd save that money and use it on a chromecast or a soundbar.

Edit: Here are the full specification pages.

If all you want is as big a screen forgoing actual quality display. Sure why not. Just dont go looking for features tvs that are smaller thats 3 to 4 times as much.

  • I got this through the Good Guys eBay deal before I saw this, but got Good Guys rep to price-match in-store and was able to pick up for $1525.

The biggest TV I ever bought. Was really surprised to be able to fit it in my Mondeo hatchback. Unloading and setting up was a bit of a pain as you have to grip the TV in a way that avoids applying pressure on the screen when lifting, but that's all the same with other large flat TVs these days I'm guessing.
