You can buy the 2s at this price, but 64gb instead of 128gb

    • 6gb instead of 8gb

    • Where did you find the 2S? Shows as $369.99USD for me.

  • Thanks, was waiting for a phone deal like this from Xiaomi to pop up again. Grabbed one. :)

Huge camera improvement in 2s. This phone is too old for this price point

  • Also Has last years SD835 instead of 845

  • How is this compared to Mi 8 Lite? It seems Mi 8 Lite is $100 less with B28 too.

    • Slower CPU in the Mi 8 lite, no NFC, seems like a worse camera. Mi 8 lite has an sd slot and a way better selfie camera (if you use that camera, don't buy the mi mix 2).

I picked up the non-SE version of the mi mix 2 a few months ago for about $350. Love it,buuld quality is nuts with a ceramic back, mi 8 lite is all glass. Neither have a headphone jack.

      • Thanks, I thought with Mi 8 Lite dual camera the photos would look better, no?

        • +1

The second camera just adds depth sensing, so if you're into simulated bokeh it'll do a better job but it doesn't improve image quality.

Without being able to find a side by side comparison, they're probably pretty similar. Both sony sensors, both around the same size, the high pixel count means smaller cells (they're seriously tiny on the IMX576, which is in the Mi 8 Lite, so I wouldn't expect good low light results).

The Mi Mix 2 has optical stability though, which I find really useful (considering how hard it is to hold a camera still) and not something you usually find on budget phones except from Nokia.

If the camera is really important to you though, don't buy either. Neither of these fall in the good category of cameras. On a budget, I'd probably look at the Nokia 7.1 Plus, same sensor as the Mi 8 (full version) or the Pocofone. Either that or pick up a Galaxy S8 from somewhere.

  • Band 28 and nfc ticks 2 of the boxes we get on most Australian phones,

Only downside might be some phones in this price range are on Pie, this is android 7, and you might get oreo but then that would be end of Android upgrades. Depends how important version of android are for you vs getting series 8xx processor for under $500.

I'm more into software version support than getting faster processors for same money.

  • The black one was $354 AUD + $25AUD shipping on eglobalcentral before. You can buy more than 1 and save the shipping fee on the 2nd one.

    • They are different phones though. The special edition is completely ceramic.

  • The camera is not good but still was the best phone for the price.
