This is the cheapest I can find for the Philips Airfryer. Note this is the medium sized one so it won’t be suitable for a large family. It gets great reviews here https://www.productreview.com.au/p/philips-daily-collection-…
Great for getting a fried style of food without all the oil. There’s plenty of recipes online including this one which looks pretty yummy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZk2tirQ-L8&feature=share Some of the dishes online don’t come out loooking as good but they still seem to be juicy and tender. For $139 I’m going to give it a try even if it’s just for making potato wedges and chicken wings.

I bought this one (https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kitchen-couture-7l-digital-air-…) @ $89. It's huge (7L) so suitable for a big family and it cooks very best everytime I use them.

    • I looked into that one but the reviews were a bit hit and miss. I won’t buy electrical products from Kogan or Aldi as I’ve been burnt in the past (crappy pun intended) Philips have a good reputation and should last the distance.

Agree that the Airfryer From Phillips does go the distance. I have one that looks very similar to this one from 5 years ago and it’s still going strong.

        • My Philips XL went for about 2.5 years then died, got the Kogan and it's OK (touch buttons are pretty dodgy), but it's definitely no Philips. Can't justify spending $300+ every few years for an appliance though…

          • @pakkapie: Statutory warranty :)

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a 300 dollar appliance to last more than 2.5 years, considering I still see Kmart deep fryers from the 90s and earlier in people's homes.

    • Nice. I have the Kmart one which is only 3.2 litres but works great. Difficult to clean though.

I have been planning to upgrade to a larger one so Kogan looks good for me.

      • hows it difficult to clean when it all comes apart? i've got the kmart model too and i think its fantastic

        • Stuff gets heavily baked on and when you try to scrub it off it strips the coating

          • @GunnerMcDagget: I totally agree. The non stick coating on mine is also coming off. I decided to not risk eating it so I threw it out

This air fryer was $117.99 at the start of the month at both Amazon and Harvey Norman
    Just a FYI

It works amazing and is really easy to clean

Unless the metal tray can be removed, which I think the newer models can, it isn’t easy to clean

  • Does anyone know the difference with the other Phillips models?

  • I use this model it's awesome my only gripe is I wish the basket was bigger in size.
I've done everything from reheating to cooking in it.at this price I'll buy another

    • $239 for the larger one at the good guys. I’d rather pay $100 less and test the waters with this one.

  • I bought a lesser known brand for $65 on special 3.5 years ago and still going strong.

  • Cleaning is a biatch though especially if youre cooking raw neat… So have your dishwasher handy too.

  • Do you mean the drip tray is hard to clean or cleaning the element?

I lay some alfoil or baking paper in the bottom it makes cleaning easier

Disrupts the designed airflow of the thing…

Just soak it in some hot water with detergent after use and the grease and anything sticky should come off easily. Never had an issue cleaning it.

But the heating element can be difficult to clean.

At this price, I'd highly recommend though!

  • Thanks, managed to claim difference via good guys for purchase last week.

  • What's clean up like

    • I just bought one of these and cooked up some mozzarella sticks in it which was quick and easy and turned out way better than my oven ever does them. There was some mozzarella that had spewed out of a few and across the mesh and onto the under carriage part that the mesh tray floats over. This was easily cleaned as you can press a little button that pops the tray out of the carriage part and allows you to clean them both thoroughly and the manual also said that these 2 parts are dishwasher safe, which is a pretty cool little extra.
