  • Guys, can you please help me here? My account was keep on crashing, finally when I checked my purchases, I was so surprised to see I have bought 2 pairs. Has any one dealt with refunds with Scoops before? I only 1 pair. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

      i warned you…

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/forum/23834

      • yes, i was just reading the thread :(

        • I have received a refund from Scoopon before (only because the company i purchased the voucher for closed down), worth a try…!

        • I sent them an email, they replied me in less than an hour saying there been a duplicate asking for my details, email, last 4 digits in my CC and Scoopon title. Has any one experienced this? how long do I have to wait till it get fixed?

        • I have received a refund from Scoopon before

did you have any problems contacting them ???

  • Scoopon, oh no. Keep dramas away for yourself.

  • Oh, no, UGG Australia boots are only $99 a pair in the smartbrand outlet, nunawading,VIC.

Who really wanna those so-called Ozzie Ugg Boots

    • +2

UGG Australia is an American company that sues every mom and pop family business that have been making Ugg boots for decades and calling them ugg boots because that's the type of boot they are. UGG Australia claims to hold copyright over the boot type name 'ugg'. DO NOT BUY from UGG Australia unless you want to support an American company trying to screw Australian manufacturers and retailers.

UGG not australian.. they made in China and use China material
if you want good quality buy EMU australian made.. recently they manufacture it in china but using Australian material best wool in the world.
why i know this thing because i do my research before i buy something

better still, just grab a couple of sheep, and duct tape them to your feet…

      • +1

someone give this man an award right now!

        • I would but my boots are running away with it!

    • Not only are they manufactured in China using Chinese material, they are a US based company.

      • Yep, there's quite an interesting story behind that too, the US company that copyrighted the name tried to pull a "Men at Work - Kookaburra" style swifty using the UGG name…IIRC the judge effective told them to F off, the Aussie & NZ companies had been using the term UGG long before the shifty copyright lawsuit, & they had no right to stop them now! ;)

      • then why the hell is the company call "UGG Australia"… dont make sense

I am voting negative due to scoopons customer service procedures. Sorry OP.

    • you're supposed to vote for the deal

      • +2

But when the deal is offered by a company that treats customers the way Scoopon does. it impacts the percieved value of the deal. Sorry OP.

  • I wouldn't buy the UGG branded ones, compared to a real Aussie sheepskin boot like Mortels et.al. they are extremely poor quality! Double whammy here, poor quality product AND Scoopon dodgy business! ;)

    • These aren't UGG (or "UGG Australia") branded boots, from what I can see — the boots on sale here are made in Australia: http://ozzieuggboots.com.au/index.php?route=information/info…

      • +1

the problem is too many UGG called themselves genuine.

      • Fair point jump!

I'm not sure of the quality of these ones myself, but I think $95 for short boots isn't that great of a deal anyway. That said, if it wasn't Scoopon I'd consider revoking the neg! ;)

  • If anyone wants to spend a little extra money and support the Company who took "UGG Australia" to court to have the Ugg trademark removed then this is the store http://www.uggs-n-rugs.com.au/

    • +1

It wasn't just one store that fought that battle dude, it was most of the major sheepskin boot makers in Oz & Nz! ;)

      • +1

lots of other stores were backing the case but it was Uggs n Rugs who dealt with the lawyers and saw the case from beginning to end.

Yes, but my point is that they had support - financial, empirical & moral - from the other manufacturers. It's not like they did it all on their lonesome!

As is always the case, somebody has to be the 'face' of any class-action type case! ;)

        • Thanks for that.

I used to by UGG SOMETHING from a factory in Huntingdale Victoria.

Quality is good as well as the price, high boot costs me $120 around.

I want to support Uggs n Rugs, but a little bit more expensive than the Huntingdale one.

Yep, i certainly do not disagree.

I guess what i was trying to say is that Uggs n Rugs had the most to lose buy being at the front of the case.

If you can find the documentary about it have a watch, it gave a good insight into the story.

It is old but ABC has been replaying it.

If you are buying them from a sheepskin factory then they should be just as good as any of the real Australian ugg boots.
The bad ones to buy are the 'UGG Australia' and other low quality boots.

I want to support Uggs n Rugs, but a little bit more expensive than the Huntingdale one.

No harm in supporting the one near you, i am sure they will appreciate it!

I only mentioned Uggs n Rugs because they are the one who I know of from the ABC show.

  • My wife works in a gift shop that sells this kind of crap; she reckons they buy them for about $63 wholesale and sell them at $125, so 95 bucks still seems an okay price (not taking in to account how dreadful Scoopon actually are). That said, ANY tourist shop will knock off 20% if you push them (further if you're pushy) so there's not really much of a bargain to be had in the end.

$99 is a rip for this product, compared to $20 at pretty much any market

    • where can you get $20 real sheepskin ugg boots?

    • You do know that there is such a thing as good quality and low quality and also real wool and fake/plastic wool

  • Guys, looks like I learn from my purchase, next time I should be careful before I buy some thing from COTD or doggie Scoopons. My GF wanted to buy UGG for some time and I thought this is good deal to suprise her. Hope I wont be in the dog house to purchasing 2 :(

So if I found its fake Chinese made, I should have the rights for a refund right?

    • it depends on the terms and condition stated on your voucher you received from Scoopon.
because scoopon is your mediator for this deal
hopefully you can but based on all the dramas people having with scoopon, i have no comment. Good luck

Why do you think they will be fake/Chinese boots when their website says that are made in Australia?
