Insurance on Apple Products

Looking at buying an Apple Watch but do you think the added warranty for three years cover is worth it or a waste of money?

  • Not worth it if you look after your possessions and don’t break things accidentally

    • Not really for me breaking it more if it stopped working.

      • Very very slim chance of that happening. Breakage is the most likely cause of something going wrong.

  • have you cracked your phone screen before ?

    • No never. I'm thinking more if it stops working.

Check your home and contents policy - you can add "out of home" cover for some items depending on who you are with. Much cheaper than a retailer policy too. Also, check your credit card as it may also have insurance.

    • Looked up "out of home" on the QBE site and the first article was on their support for Mardi Gras.

Does anyone know if QBE insurance covers "out of home"? I will keep looking myself but thought people might know.

I thought it was called "portable contents"

      • It's a suggestion on where to wear your new watch :)

Appears they do with Home Prestige Insurance:

Want the added peace of mind that comes with our highest level of cover? With Home Prestige you’ll enjoy a range of extra benefits, including accidental damage cover, higher limits across selected items and cover for contents outside the home (if you’re insuring your contents). You can choose our Prestige cover for your home, your contents, or opt for a combined home and contents policy.
