Redeem 2kg Pablo & Rusty Coffee Beans with Purchase of Breville Barista Express (BES870) at Participating Australian Retailers

90

Full credit to user @edrift for mentioning this offer buried in a deal for the Barista Express.
I thought a lot of us might have bought this machine since 01/11/2018 so would be eligible for the free beans. The purchase has to have been made between 01/11 and 31/12 however you have until 31/01/2019 to submit your claim. Can’t comment on the quality of P&R beans but they talk the talk on their website and seem to know what they’re doing. ( and the coffee is free…)

Here are the T’s & C’s but there’s nothing dodgy from what I can see. A large list of retailers is included, and you can purchase online or in store. My eBay good guys purchase was eligible and now I’m just waiting on delivery.

Worst part of the freebie is that delivery seems to take 6-8 weeks :/

Terms

The offer commences at 9:00 am (AEST) on Thursday, 1 November 2018, and closes at 11:59 pm (AEST) on Monday, 31 December 2018 ("Offer Period"). To redeem the gift, purchase the Participating Product (defined below) from a participating Australian retailer during the Offer Period. The promoter is BREVILLE PTY LIMITED ABN 98 000 092 928 of 2/170-180 Bourke Road, Alexandria, NSW 2015 (“Promoter” or “Breville”). See Full Terms & Conditions here.

  • does it really take 28 days for the first delivery?

    • Apparently it does. I emailed P&R to double check and they told me this

The process on P&R's end is that once we receive the new claims we will organise dispatch within 28 business days as per the Breville T&Cs. We understand customers need their coffee for their new machines.

  • The deal expiry should be 31/12

    • Well, kinda - but you still have until 31/01 to claim the free coffee so the deal isn’t finished until then really :/

  • Thanks for reminding me. I’ve had the PDF open in one of my tabs on phone but still haven’t got around to it, almost forgot!

They probably want to verify the sale of the machine before people redeem anything then return the machine 😂

Either way, stale crappy beans valued at $9 a kg isn't really a deal.. How abouts 50% off the machine as they break down and are filled with crappy components?

What makes you say these beans are a stale and crappy? I asked P&R via email how fresh the beans are and they responded

Our beans are all freshly roasted and nitrogen packed, keeping it fresher and without compromise. :)

Also the retail value of the cheapest blend is $38/kg, and even though I’ve seen a few 50% off deals here on OzB, I don’t think they’ve ever been as cheap as $9. Please correct me if I’m wrong :)

The only places which would even consider nitrogen would be ones where their products are kept in warehouses for 3 Months+

Beans go stale in 2 weeks otherwise, places like St Ali, Code Black, Veneziano, Profile and many others wouldn't dream of using Nitrogen.

So thanks for confirming that these are indeed stale beans. Their only response should have been 'all beans are roasted once ordered'

Companies that nitrogen flush are your Lavazza, MIO (nestle), Vittoria, Harris etc.

        • OK, so I just received my beans - roasted on 28/12/18, only a couple of days before being postedm and 5 days before being received. I'd say thats fairly fresh!

  • I sent this in about 11 days ago and just received tracking notification that it should reach me either on the 2nd or 3rd. Not too bad considering all the holidays during this time.

Funny timing, I got my tracking email last night after I posted this deal. Submitted my claim on 20/12

  • Who remembers Pablo coffee?

"I know what you need … a little Pablo! Ole! "

Love the sexual innuendo at the end :) Do adverts still do that?

  • I claimed on the 28th Dec, got 1kg beans this morning in 4 250g bags. Roasted 4 Jan in Melbourne so very fresh.
