Uber Eats Deceptive Practice - Not Honouring Coupon / Manual Adjustment from Support Rep Declined following their suggestion.

Is this deceptive practice by Uber Eats?
Can someone please explain to me how a coupon code sent directly to me is "not part of a select group" and if one of their reps can suggests making an order and asking for a manual adjustment only for another rep to say the opposite?

Uber eats sent out an email with a $5 coupon code on the 26/12/18 for $5 off an order with no expiry date. Upon entering the coupon, it was declined. When I contacted the support, a rep recommended that I proceed with an order and then ask for an manual adjustment. When I made the order and asked for this manual adjustment of $5, they declined stating:

Support Rep "K" before ordering

If you would still like to use your promo code, I suggest you order again then write us back once the promo code did not apply so we can make the necessary adjustments. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Support Rep "J" after making an order

Damn, 3 seconds and your read all that?

Your question was in the first line.

        • I see I see. Welp they screwed me over twice. If you have deliveroo, mind sharing your referral code via dms?

J seems to have given you a standard response without actually looking at the issue. This ‘ should’ be resolved by sending support a copy of the promo you received

    Good luck

    • Last time they suspended my account after I told them somebody screwed up my order and only delivered half the items. Took 2 weeks to actually get my account reinstated. At least they had the courtesy of providing $30 in credits.

Why don't you send them a copy of the email you received from them?

I have literally attached every piece of evidence including the promo email, checkout, receipt and the support rep. Its like they're bots replying with canned messages and without even reading the context.

      • They used to be pretty good with this kind of thing, but it sounds like things have changed.

Any way to actually speak to someone there?

          Speak to someone?

          BAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

          Good one.

          • @[Deactivated]: Nope, phone support is only available in selected markets. I’m sure if I did some detective work I can probably find a contact number for their head office

Upon entering the coupon, it was declined.

    Should have given it away….

  • This is all about what a wonderful company Uber is.
