Uses for Leftover VISA/MC Gift Cards

I have multiple VISA/Mastercard gift cards from when I used to buy prepaid gift cards with discounted Coles/WISH eGift cards with remaining balances ranging from $0.03 to $1.20 and am wondering how people deal with using these "leftover" cards?

U can still goto somewhere like woolies and split payment and use up the cents

On a separate note if you're buying wish giftcards from woolworths site (even thru CR) you don't need to buy in denominations of 50 or 100. Eg If your giftcard is $107.50 you can buy that amount (this is how I used up/recycled my discounter gift cards)

    • Min $5 for Woolies eGC, but OP did not keep the balance of an unused card over $4.75.

      • Don't think this is true. If I'm not sure if my balance I'll sometimes put through 1c purchase. The machine then tells you the eGC balance

        • I mean the min denomination of a Wish eGC for purchase is $5. A "leftover" card needs to have a balance of $4.75(or other depending on the discount) for this purpose.

  • Just post it to me and i will finish them for you

    • Agree. Just post it out and see where it got spent first:)

Also, some shops have boxes that allow you to donate them
to charity. e.g. Myer, JB HiFi

I like this idea - thanks!

  • split payment, enter amount left on card……. card used up.

  • Last time I had a few of these I added the credit to my Amazon account - they used to accept credit from prepaid visa and it never expires in your Amazon account.

  • Split payment at Coles. Use the card only machine as they are much quicker when splitting payment than a cash/card machine. I wouldn't do it at Woolworths as when the card has no pin it makes you sign and the attendant must come and check the signature.

Otherwise use them to pay your bills online.

  • OP, you can still apply this hack as it help you cover over the 5% loss, eg. use the "3 cents as 5 cents".
