Dr. Martens Arlington-Ns-3-Eye-Shoes MENS. Comfiest Work Shoes

Thought I would share this as some people looking for new shoes may not think of Dr Martens.

I've been wearing Dr Marten 1461 Nappa shoes with the yellow stich as work shoes for ages since I started working. They are a great office dress type shoe. They are very comfortable because they a thick rubber sole. Its like walking on air. The only down side is the price(usualy early to mid $200), and eventually as they are rubber and the way the moulding of sole is made they wear and your left with holes on the heal in particular (but not for ages). You can still wear them fine, but don't look that great. I just wear my shoes to death. Until there is no grip left.

Full leather shoe.

So was looking again for a new pair. https://www.theiconic.com.au/arlington-ns-3-eye-shoes-men-s-… Only size 8 UK left. Cashrewards and you get a further discount to make it under $150 delivered Melbourne.

This range is the airware version which has breathable foam insert. Also I notice the heel and middle version of the sole has a new different rubber insert. This may make it last longer from wear. Anyway. Giving them ago.

  • I had the same issue with my nappas. I reckon I wore them every day for like 5 years. When I dediced to buy a new pair, I managed to find an insane sale and only paid $110 for them. I probably wouldn’t have replaced them otherwise.

The ones you’ve posted seem nice, not a bad price either. Thanks.

    • Yeah. They rarely go on sale in stores. $110 a bargain. You really need to check online for sales. Then there is also the issue of finding your correct size. I reckon that though if you paid the $240 RR and wore if over 5 years. That's not bad. Some shoes only last 6months if worn everyday.

  • +1

Always check downesshoes.com.au before purchasing your DMs. They have crazy specials sometimes! (Picked up my 1460 boots for $100 recently). Check out their specials page.

    • http://www.downesshoes.com.au/product/petri-exposed-steel-to… These look great for my next construction site visit. Says on sale, but the price is already a tad high for me.

      http://www.downesshoes.com.au/docmodification/ Mod options are cool.

Is the sales page separate. Non at moment it would seem. Or I cant find it.

      • Agreed their website needs a "sort by" option. When they had a Christmas sale it was on their front page. Try filtering down to "on sale" and under around $120 or so to find some nice bargains.

        • Also, I find I can get away with 1460 8-holes in an office environment - if you're a guy and have an appropriate length pair of pants, they look like shoes anyhow.

(and if you're not a guy, these look quite lovely for $70) http://www.downesshoes.com.au/product/lorrie-lace-shoe-deep-…

          • @ozoner: I think that store actually has a great range. Really different pattern styles. I would find the boot a tad hot to wear in summer. But yes you could wear them under pants in an office environment. In my workplace which is a design office the graphic designer wears red Addidas sneakers. I on the other hand sort of need to be less out there. The yellow stich version do give your shoes a bit more of a pop. Plus it says DR Martens from afar.

  • Can vouch for their comfort. A few years back now, my mum was pottering around a few op shops and found two pairs for $10… so she bought one pair for me. Spewing she didn't grab both.
