When Will They Turn Click and Collect Back on? (I Think It's off for The Sales) (Myer, David Jones, Other?)

Myer and David Jones and I don't know who else, have turned off click and collect.
I assume for the sales?
It is very very annoying.

Does anyone know when we will be able to click and collect again?

Used click and collect from DJs today. No idea what you're talking about.

    • DJ did turn off C&C for low stock level cheap things from Friday night.

      • Got an example? Click and Collect came back on January 2.

        • All DJ brand men trunk/pants around $10 were out of stock after 8.30pm on Friday. They are on my wishlist. I ordered some before then, half of them were canceled.

          • @Neoika: They probably sold out; maybe someone put them up on another bargain site and people snapped them up.

Anything that’s ridiculously cheap and is a fashion item, I wouldn’t hold your breath on actually being able to buy it. Especially after it’s been advertised on OzBargain …

            • @kerfuffle: I am happy to buy even I know it may not have stock. In the end, high change that I get to keep the points from Velocity eStore. In addition, I think there was an issue with DJ last year about GC refund. Thus, GC payment was disabled for a few weeks. I got some orders fully refunded with no reasons even I picked up the orders. Although I read the complaint topic about cancelation here, it did happen in my favor twice. Check your used GCs between May and August and you may get a surprise.

@Neoika: There was an issue; people unwittingly threw out their gift cards because they didn’t expect the refunds to go back onto their old gift card which you can’t blame the customer for because who expects a refund back to an old gift card? I don’t think they refund to used gift cards any more because of this problem.

Gift card payment was disabled because of the new website. A lot of things weren’t working when the new website launched (behind schedule) so they had to disable a lot of things and fix one part up at a time. Personally, there’s still a lot that needs to be fixed on the website …

Source: was working for them when the new website launched …

                • @kerfuffle: Got refund by eGC once already. If no stock, DJ will split the orders into two and cancel the one with no stock now.

@Neoika: I know how DJs Online orders work; I used to work there …

I had one split into two once but for some strange reason, they fufilled all items in store (it was a Click and Collect; they might have been waiting for stock to be unpacked)

              • @Neoika: how much did you get in free stuff?!

  • well that's good news. it wasn't working on DJs a few days ago. - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/428647

debe on 28/12/2018 - 22:43 "works but no click and collect"

kerfuffle on 29/12/2018 - 05:53 "It'll be turned back on next week probably. Click and Collect is always turned off during the first few days of Clearance"

    but what about Myer?

what i'm talking about with myer is stuff is in stock in a store, but it's out of stock online, and you can't add it to your cart in order to click and collect at that store because?…

    • Because… Myer website has never had the same stock that is actually in stores.

      • dj's calls it their 'Fulfilment Centre'. (if only i could buy fulfilment.)

it's very confusing. you're kind of saying that myer stores and myer online are actually 2 shops that just have the same name. maybe you are right.

        • Myer doesn’t have a Fulfilment centre. All stock you buy online for delivery is fulfilled by a store that has stock. DJs only resorts to in-store fulfilment if the warehouse doesn’t have stock.

          • @kerfuffle: thank you for that info.

in that case, why can i not buy something that is in stock in multiple stores?

you and others must be right then that it's because of low stock levels then,
but these are things that are in stock in multiple stores - at least 3 - so surely one of them would be able to pick and pack it before someone bought it in store?

            • @bargain huntress:

one of them would be able to pick and pack it before someone bought it in store?

Hahaha no. That’s not how Click and Collect works in DJs (and presumably Myer) waiting for an order to come in before running off to grab it before someone else does. They’re done in batches. But both stores have a deadline to fulfil; Myer have to get theirs done within three hours and DJs is by 4 p.m. if placed before 1 p.m.

As for your first question, I suggest you go ask Myer that. I don’t know the answer to that question because I’ve never worked for Myer.

No they not like BigW. Their online is just bit crap and always has been. There seem to be some stores that has the online stock to send but they also move stock between local stores for pickup.
Using Lego, there were common sets available in store that were not on website at all. Not sure why as they could sell more if all available.

    Monday 8th January

    • (my sarcasm detector is defective.)

are you serious? how do you know?

      • I think so too. For DJ, it makes sense to turn off C&C for low stock level cheap things over the weekend. No one works in the head office to manage online shop, also avoid too many cancelations later. However, you can still buy other high value things via C&C.

DJs Click and Collect was turned back on on the 2nd. I don’t think Myer ever turned off their Click and Collect.

You probably can’t add the stuff to your bag when shopping on Myer online for Click and Collect because there’s really limited stock. I just did a mock order for basic Clinique stock and their Click and Collect works. You’ll just have to call the store up to see if they actually have the item you want in stock and ask them to put it on hold for you.

    • thank you

so… i can do a click and collect on the phone?

or will i have to potter around to all the sections?

      • Just call the store up and ask if they have it in stock, and if so, to put it on hold under your name and contact number. Simple

Then again, I’ve heard bad things about Myer’s phone lines …

        • ok thank you.

i hate phones in general so i will brace myself

      • you can not do click and collect over the phone

        • +1

But you can call them up. Pay for the item and have it sent to you or to pick up later (aka a phone order), or put it on hold to pick up and pay for at a later date.

Guess you’ve never done a phone order before at DJs, unless you don’t work on the floor …

          • @kerfuffle: Yes you can do that. Most departments let you pay for it on the phone and pick it up, but some don't. And yeah i don't work on the floor

            • @hmac: Which departments won’t let you pay over the phone and pick it up? I presume the AV departments due to high value and limited stock

  • David Jones Click and Collect was back on from 2nd of January. Though you can't click and collect something that physically isn't in stock in the store.
