ALDI Back School Premium Backpack

I just wanted to alert users to the Premium back to school backpack in the next Aldi Catalogue, available Wed 9 January.

I haven't posted it as a deal because it is the regular price of $19.99.

However, it really is a good deal - I have used one to cart all my school stuff back and forwards daily for the last four years or so - the first one I had lasted 3 years with a heavy load in each day, including my computer, school books and all the other things teachers need to cart around with them. My "new" one has been in use for a year but still looks perfectly neat and respectable. As far as I can recall the price has not changed!

I know that from time to time people have asked about a good backpack and I have mentioned this one - well now is time to mention it again because it is in store this week and will only be there until sold out. Get onto it now if you are looking for a cheap but durable (and plain) backpack for work or school.

  • Wow - nice find and thanks for posting! (and even respecting the deal rules to post it here in the forums! =D)

Considering that one has lasted you 3 years, and ALDI's generous refund policies, it seems like a cracking price for all of its features. Might pick one up myself if I find time to go down on/after Wednesday (and there are any left).

  • It's a very good backpack, not just for school kids. I use it instead of my company-issued Samsonite laptop backpack for International trips.

    How many litres?

of bourbon can you fit in the

      Insulated cooler compartment

    • Would like to know this too…
Wonder if it would fit a helmer together with a lunch box and a few spare shirts or would it be too small?

        Do you mean a helmet?

Website does not give volume but here are some approx measurements:

        w: 35cm
        l: 42 cm
d: pocket 1 (padded with laptop sleeve)- 4cm; pocket 2- 13cm; pocket 3 (insulated) - 4cm. I'd say this last pocket is the smallest as it doesn't take up the entire footprint of the backpack.

I think you could stuff a bike helmet in there and your lunchbox. Shirts might get a bit crumpled but I think they could fit as well. I know I carry my laptop, work diary, textbooks, at least a full class set of workbooks and an Aladdin's cave of pencils and stationery.

It's not a top level piece of luggage but for a cheap daily workhorse, I have found it to be of serviceable quality.
