    Convertible Rocking Chair $199

I've never seen one with a hard top…

This gem might change your mind

        That's more pop than rock

Naive late night dad jokes don't go down well with new mothers lacking sleep. As a dad with an 8 month old I'm acutely aware. Just go and buy the rocking chair!

      • -1

Just don’t buy this rocking chair…. it’s fairly shit… if u rock too hard it may over turn.. have tried without sitting on it…

We brought it 2 years ago when it was it was on news about people fighting over it… we bagged 2, the wife says the seat is too deep…

    Convertable =/= Convertible

  • +1

Is this the one that is popular with new mothers?

    • Yeh I think this was one of the items that started "fights" last year.

They always seem to bring back the super popular items until eventually they don't sell out

  • Night Light/Torch $12.99

That could explain the Click Nightguard Rechargeable Torch $12.89 (Was $24.98) @ Bunnings deal.

I bought this the first time it went on sale when my wife was expecting our first.

Highly recommended - comfy to sit on, great for settling bubs and a good $400 cheaper than anything you'll find at Baby Bunting.

Even now we've taken the rocking legs off and it sits next to the couch in the lounge room. Still gets heaps of use.

    • Agreed. Last year, heavily pregnant Mrs Vietbargain was running down the Aldi aisle to snag one of these.

We still use it everyday in the kids room

Congratulations and Bon Chance to all the nursing mothers but that is the Crocs equivalent for furniture. Very practical but homely.

    • Crocs are anything but homely. They are eyesores!

      • Personally, I wouldn't put this chair in my home; but I do have a pair of Crocs. (I don't wear my Crocs outside my house). It depends on what practical needs you have.

    • Bon Chance

??? Do you mean "bonne chance"?

  • Looks like a knock off of this: https://www.babybunting.com.au/bebe-care-regent-chair-and-ro…

Main thing is that it's comfy.

Aldi, knocking off the look of other people’s products, never!

      • Likely same manufacturer.

        • It is! The recent 100L water tank deal is manufactured by maze that is being sold in bunnings for a lot more $$.

          • @stalker878:

being sold in bunnings for a lot more $$.

invitation to use try Bunnings’ elusive price match guarantee. The catch - item must be in stock.

            • +1

@AlexF: I bet there is a slight difference, including the model number. That is how Bunnings gets around these sort of things.

  • Will be rocking up to Aldi in 8 days just to see some brawls :D

    • Our local was brawl free but which was disappointing

      • Are all these articles about brawls just a beat up, or are people still rushing to buy these?

        • There wasn't a lineup at our Aldi beforehand, but we got there a bit before opening and the first three people through the checkout all had the rocking chair.

          • @em: So still in demand, but not "must get there early and line up" hype level popular. Probably an item that you still should get there at opening to get one, but probably not one you have to worry about having to fight over?

How many did they have in stock in your store?

            • @caprimulgus: Not sure on stock levels - they were bringing them out from the back one at a time as there is limited space in store. We went to our local store but it is in a fairly low socio economic area and in SA so not sure if that affected demand. It may have been in higher demand in other areas? I noticed yesterday afternoon that the chairs are being advertised on Gumtree for $300.

              • @em: 3 pallets at my local store, so probably about 20 of them. Everyone who arrived before open got one with minimum of fuss.

        • My pregnant wife and I got to ALDI first, by store open there were 5 different groups lined up all wanting the chair (all pregnant women or young mother). The very frustrating thing was we went straight to the middle isle and walked up each side, as we were first we were in front of everyone, got to the end and realised it wasn't there. So then everyone started walking backwards in-case we missed it, then at the side of the store the double doors opened from the store room and a worker wheeled a pallet of the chairs out the door. We went from being first in the store to last in line to get the chair, luckily there were 6 chairs so it was enough for everyone with one left over. I think my wife would have been ready to murder someone if we missed out due to ALDI not having the chair out at store open.

I guess this chair is always going to be in demand due to the never ending cycle of pregnant women

        • FWIW, just spoke to my fiance: she dropped into an Aldi at 8:45am this morning after opening, and was able to grab one (she said 3 left on the floor at the time, not sure if any more out back).

The store must have had a bunch, because she said she saw a whole bunch of people trying to squeeze them into their cars when she arrived, and saw someone wheeling 3 of them around on their shopping trolley whilst continuing to shop! (Probably a dodgy reseller, trying to flip them for a profit!)

@caprimulgus: We managed to get ours into our hatchback corolla more easily than a guy a few cars down who was trying to navigate it into an SUV haha.

            • @em: +1 for hatch over SUV! :)

(Ours is a long hatch / mini wagon)

Fortunately, no pregnant women got into a brawl.

  • People on gumtree already starting to sell it for double the price.

  • Plenty left in stock at ALDI Baulkham Hills

  • +2

Plenty at Eden Rise Berwick (Vic) Aldi. In the back store room so have to ask

  • Top Ryde still had 2 at the front when I went in today, don’t know if they had more out the back.

  • Randomly went into an Aldi today near Milperra and saw one - bought it. Pretty comfy decent price. No baby here but a good chair.

    • +1

I’m pretty sure Aldi don’t sell babies.
